"We arrived shortly before 17 clock on a weekday and there were many tables available so we have given a great space next to the window with a beautiful view! eating was super delicious and after a day to explore edinburgh. when the evening went to the service was a little slow though they were friendly! it was a nice dinner! and I would recommend!"

"Whilst visiting friends last year who live a few miles away from this place we decided to partake of a bar supper and a pint of ale. On arrival there were two police officers in the car park trying to stop two drunk thugs from murdering each other. Within 30 minutes of entering the pub a second incident broke out between two idiots who had also downed more than there share. Generally disappointed with service whilst ordering our beer, got the impression the staff were wholly uninterested in impressing us with even a smile . Decided not to stay and eat. My view is avoid at all costs."

"Came here the night before Edinburgh marathon after panicking that we hadn’t booked anywhere. Can’t believe they weren’t fully booked it’s a lovely small traditional feeling restaurant, really friendly and the food was delicious. Only a couple of options for me as a venue but I had the waitress’s recommendation and it was perfect."

"We were visiting Edinburgh from the USA and were very impressed! Don't be deterred by the one or two negative reviews below...this place is lovely. It's welcoming, warm, and cozy. It also had the best espresso out of all the spots we tried in Edinburgh...which is saying a lot because good coffee in the UK is hard to find, in our experience. The food is delicious and you can tell it's made with love. Finally, you must try their Victorian Sponge Cake.....it was AMAZING."

"We've been leaving. it was amazing. spinat and cheese boat was my favorite. chef was friendly and the portions are incredibly generous. the restaurant is small but cozy. would definitely recommend. Oh, and the Georgian spicy mayo is one!"
