"The Shoulder of Mutton is our favourite venue for eating out at the weekend. It is easy to get to, cosy, with real fires. The beer is excellent, well kept and a good temperature. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The food is home-cooking style and really flavoursome. It is easy to book a table on the website. They also have occasional events which are very popular."

"My man and I had a nice meal last night while we stayed in the dower house. garlic mushrooms we are delicious and my sea bass was amazing that saucew! husband loved his pate and his bun and chorizo burger. and the desserts were beautiful, red. including brownie and lemon. whole meal was about £33 to help with eating. that was a great surprise. If I could offer a advice, it might be better to dim the lights and maybe to put them on the tables. it would create a beautiful atmosphere in such a beautiful space."

"We had a wonderful starter and a mains tasting menu. Only problem was the inclusion of chips and onion rings in the tasting menu. Seemed odd to include something like that in a tasting menu. Might also be good to include a wine with the tasting dish."
