"On a Thursday evening for six people booked for a birthday dinner, came and found the restaurant closed to do something with the kitchens. No one to talk with a note on the door. at least what they had done was to contact me by e-mail and inform me and it would have saved a trip. telephoned davanti in tynemouth and went there instead, advise where we don't go in future."

"Late with a colleague in the night, while away for the work. service was great, very friendly and helpful staff. ordered the bolognesian chicken parmesan, which was so delicious and so filled. are huge! I could only manage to eat half of the filets and take the rest home. the prices were also decent, about £18/head for net and a drink."

"El castano, located on the osborne road in jesmond, is a beautiful little restaurant. the personal is friendly and eating is beautiful, with a wide range of traditional Spanish dishes offered. the bar also holds a wide range of drowned and bottled alcoholic and alcohol-free drinks. the atmosphere in the device is relaxed and intimate, with candles and fab decor. I had no problems booking a table for a Saturday night and eating was very cheap. we ate boiled in white wine and garlic, chorizo, meatballs, carrots with tweezers and paprika, garlic mushrooms and garlic bread. the food was great and the bottle bulmers that wet ranked were also beautiful! I'm going back to el castano."

"Disgusting. It's not a restaurant it's a cafe. It's Greek fast food at best. Totally unauthentic and basically just not very nice food. The VEGETABLE mousakka (photo) had some sort of substitute meat in it why? The word vegetable means with veg. Too loud and too light. Give it a miss."
