"The hotel itself is lovely clean a nice place to stay .The restaurant wasn't good at all . My daughter is vegetarian there were only 2 choices she had risotto it was undercooked and hard awful . I had chicken it was the toughest I've ever had God knows how you d get it that tough ! We ordered Yorkshire puddings they were greasy and tasteless. We would not eat it there again it was a very bad experience. We had breakfast in there and that was nice ."

"Stayed close to this place a couple of times at the caravan club site at rowntree Park. Staying in York now elsewhere and fancied an Indian and having looked at all the Indians we were drawn back here. So glad we tried it and can't...believe we've never done before. The food was so tasty and the portions were very ample. We'll be coming back again next time we stay at rowntree Park. We had the set meal for 2 and before 7pm it's 15% off Sunday to Thursday off the bill. Staff brilliant, service great and no rush between courses."

"As a curry lover I was finding it impossible to find a good curry house in york until a friend recommended Chenab Balti house. The meat is lovely and tender. Not over salted like most meat from takeaway’s. The spices flavour are near perfect...too. Always fast delivery with the food still being hot on arrival. "Our server was initially a little abrasive, but it did not affect the quality of service. eating was excellent, prawn corma and tikka masala was both tasteful and authentic. was very good price for the quality of food and service. in quiet rests it had less than desirable service before this was a welcome take. thanks to the chef and the home care for us."

"I go to many Indian restaurants. I am generally disappointed, as the ones with good ratings are very equal, often either ridiculously spicy of totally bland and often full of oil and coloring. this place is remarkably good for the price. it looks like another bog standard Indian place, but the two paintings I took in the april they were really well seasoned, good quality meat / huh and generally excellent. very impressed and will go again. update: was twice in the last weeks it was only ok, but this week it was excellent again. each restaurant will have bad days yet the best value for the type of take away it in york. mirchiz on fishergate is a bit better quality eating but also more expensive. for a local Indian restaurant it is better than the competition."
