"Namastey India has two restaurants now, the original one pictured here near Herz Jesu Kirche and a newer one at the Volksgarten in Linz. When the restaurant was opened I was one of two non Bengali people invited to the opening. The owner of the restaurant had been the head waiter at the Bombay Palace and left to open the first Indian food shop in Linz.and then he opened India Namaste opposite his food shop in part of the premises of a former department store. The head waiter comes from Kathmandu and the cook is from the Terai region of Nepal so I speak Nepali with both of them. The food for the lunchtime buffet is always freshly cooked as compared with other Indian restaurants where it sometimes tastes as though reheated. The menu is smaller than the Chindia restaurant which I reckon is better value. There are a few tables on the pavement but outside seating is very limited."

"I'm writing this review after my third visit. It's a very nice place with very delicious dishes and friendly owners. I'm celiac and I was worried I couldn't eat anything because of gluten or contamination. The owners explained to me that more than of...their dishes is without gluten and carefully explained to me that contamination is carefully avoided. I recommend this place fondly for people who want to eat gluten-free without worrying."
