"Been coming to Dave Doolittle's for well over 20 yrs...my dad used to be a regular. My husband and our two boys who are 15 old and 5 yrs old love the food here and we go as often as our schedules permit. The french onion soup is to die for. My husband always gets snake bites and the club house and the kids switch it up all the time. The staff is great we always banter with Kevin as he is a leafs fan and we are habs fans makes for a fun laugh. The other staff are great and friendly. We've even gone to doolittle's on a Friday night date night to Mike Gough's karaoke. The highlight of all our visits has been Kenny the cook's famous carrot cake it's got no pineapple or nuts in it and it's heaven on a plate. As for reviewers stating there are cockroaches or vermin.... in all the years I have been going and the yrs when my dad was a regular... we NEVER saw anything of the sort. If you want awesome food Go to dave doolittle's!!!! It wont break the bank and you will enjoy yourself."

"Fresh the NSCC Culinary Program's restaurant at NSCC Akerley Campus, amazed us again. Last night was their Harvest Dinner mostly composed of dishes from the vegetables they grew in their Campus garden. The restaurant was creatively decorated with products from the garden, the seating...was homestyle which meant you could be seated with strangers, and screens played time lapse footage of the growth in the garden from the spring to harvest. It started with hors d'ouevres (zucchini courgettes, yoghurt flatbread, chickpea panisse) in the hall with a cucumber infused gin (locally distilled gin) palate cleanser. The mains were courses focussed on soil, earth, vine, forest, farm and orchard. Course was heirloom carrots in vienna malt (from Spindrift Brewing) horseradish cream and carrot top pesto paired with Spindrift Brewing's Carrot Coriander saison beer. Course was roasted, pickled and confit beets, Comencini mozzarella (fantastic! and honey paired with Luckett l'Acadie Blanc. Three was Raw and Olive Poached vine ripened tomatoes, charred and tempura eggplant and basil oil paired with Benjamin Bridge Small Lot Sauvignon Blanc. Four was Lobster Mushroom (locally foraged), buttercup squash agnolotti (Wow! seabuckthorn and aromatic broth paired with Lightfoot Wolfville Chardonnay. Five was Peking style "chicken' with poblano chicken mousse injected in the breast meat, basted times, turnips, potato and nasturtium buds (an unbelievable dish the peking chicken was !!!!!! paired with Benjamin Bridge Small Lot Cabernet Franc Rose. Sixth was Mead poached honey roasted peaches (their own), sweet corn ice cream and brown butter oat cake paired with Lightfoot Wolfville Bubbly Rose. For each course a different chef described the course they had led and where the ingredients were sourced and how it was cooked. Then each wine was described. Garth Brown is the program head and he delivered a phenomenal experience. I cannot think of a restaurant that could have matched this and I have dined in Michelin Star restos. The students serve, host, design, bake and cook the meal. Even the bread provided is incomparable. Major applause to Garth, the chefs and especially the students for an exceptional evening!"

"Stopped at the food court while shopping. Given a sample of the chicken shawarma. So good I had to get a sandwich! Nice to have something with vegetables and tasty in a shopping mall."

"Ordered a large pizza and large garlic finger, it was 30 minutes which isn’t too bad but when I called to order there was a lot of confusion, after stating for the fourth or fifth time the order I was making we were finally on the same page.I went to pick up at the time given and when I got home to eat, I opened up the garlic finger box and they were cooked for so long you couldn’t even taste the garlic or the cheese. They were so overcooked it sounded like you were eating nacho chips when you took a bite of the garlic finger.I’ve attached a picture of them, I was definitely expecting cheesy, garlicky, greasy goodness but didn’t come close. The pizza was good but the Italian sausage was also cooked to a crisp.I do not recommend ordering them."
