"After years being very regular local customers we are so sad at the changes at our favourite place to eat. We always knew this day would come but please please please whatever changes you have made in the kitchen change it back. The food...tastes bland, something is missing. Customer service was fine. Prices seem to have increased to."

"Kazu Toshi replaces the Mooloolaba Cherry Blossom Tree location, which I'm quite sad to see go. However, they're still serving up Japanese fare using fresh, quality ingredients, so that takes some of the sting out of it. Anyways, I dined here opening night and it was a very positive experience overall. I can't fault any of the food we were served. It was all fresh, tasty, and artfully presented; and that applies equally to the hot items/starters, sushi, and dessert that we sampled. The panko barra and feta was probably the standout dish of the night. Not something I've ever seen on offer elsewhere, and very tasty.The only negatives that come to mind are that they didn't have any fresh tuna available that night, and ditto that on the chocolate mousse. But both of those are understandable problems considering that it was their first day in business. And they gave us a free order of mochi tempura for not having the mousse. I also realized much later that our sushi and sashimi sets were supposed to have come with miso soup, which was never delivered. I'm sure they would have corrected this if we had actually noticed while we were at the restaurant, and the meal was still very satisfying (and plenty filling) regardless.As is often the case with sushi restaurants in Queensland, I'd like to see a greater variety of fresh fish on offer. Current options are limited to salmon, kingfish, and ahi (when they get some in). Barra, snapper, mackerel, ocean trout, and perhaps swordfish would be welcome additions to the sushi/sashimi menu. And some more creative sushi rolls would be appreciated as well. Prices are reasonable. The only possible exception is that for some reason the 'large' sushi and sashimi sets are actually less economical than the 'medium' sets (as in, you'll get more food per dollar if you just get two 'medium' sets instead of one 'large' set). Not sure why that is, but in any case dining at Kazu Toshi will set you back less than a comparable meal at the Cherry Blossom Tree that preceded it. Which is impressive, given that the quality has stayed around the same level.Quality Japanese restaurants seem to have difficulty sticking around on the Sunshine Coast. So I wish this place luck, and I hope that other locals will turn up and support Kazu Toshi."

"This restaurant has all fantastic views, fabulous eating and helpful and friendly staff. I have very strict nutritional requirements as I am allergic to garlic. when I told the restaurant manager, he said no problem! the chef has cooked me the, sheer meal I had for a long time. it was really top-class. how the cook created this delicious pasta without a garlic, I don't know...but we will definitely return!"
