"I have often passed this pub situated on the outskirts of Oundle but managed a visit for lunch earlier today. We choose to sit in their large rear garden and ate at one of their many tables. I ordered the Steak and ale pie with mash and vegetables and even though my pie was about an inch thick, it was thoroughly enjoyable. My wife enjoyed hers too and our meals were part of the 2 for £15 deal which nobody can complain at. Food and service was excellent and no complaints at all. I had 2 Guinnesses whilst my wife had a pint of coke which, with lunch, totalled a very reasonable £26. We would happily return. Visited 19th August 2022."

"Ok, but a quite underwhelmed. We had been planning to visit for some time and did so on Saturday night with another couple. The service was impeccable. Really friendly attentive staff. Sadly the food, in my opinion was average. I had the prawns to start, two had calamari and one had the mushrooms. The mushrooms was the best dish by far. For mains, the two guys had the veal, my friend had spaghetti carbonara and I had the butternut risotto. The spaghetti was fabulous, the veal was ok, the risotto was dry, bland and had so much sage in it I could not eat it at all. My friends all tried it too and agreed it was awful. They did reduce the price of the item by half as a gesture, but was disappointed and hungry when I left. Not one for us I’m afraid. The restaurant was busy and plenty of people having a great time, so must have just been an off night for us."

"Food was disgusting and expensive for the quality delivered. Had no standard Peperoni pizza, so had to pay extra for special order. When eaten, tasted of old stale oil, with the box ringing wet in oil and fat. The chips tasted of old and burnt oil, with no taste of chips. The meal left me feeling sick and gave me a upset tummy next day. My mum has fish and chips. The chips were soggy, and of the type you get frozen from the super market. The fish was disgusting, and inedible and has in fact gone off! My partner had a jacket spud, which was soggy, and microwaved, and non at all tasty, unlike her Garlic bread which was rather nice. The cake was dry, and i would say, been frozen and defrosted as required. The whole mead as disgusting, and inedible to all but the extremely hungry. Avoid!"

"I had a very decent part of the hühnerdoner kebab and by far one of the best. Huhn was very tasty without being fat! all salat was not soggy, but fresh and beautifully laid, without being messy and the pitta itself is very crispy, yet soft at the same time. I will order it again!"

"A delicious meal and friendly staff. We visit Italy a lot and can honestly say the food is as good. We had the fritto Misto and arranchini followed by the spaghetti vongole and filled ravioli with a side of courgette fritti. The tiramisu was delicious and a lovely end to a good meal. I’m embarrassed that we forgot to leave a tip as my husband thought I said I had paid it with the food. We will be back."
