"We visited Nino 's for the first time on a busy Friday night. It is a small cramped restaurant with old mismatched furniture that has seen better days. It is totally lacking in atmosphere. When we asked for the drinks menu, the manager asked us what we wanted. When we said wine , he said red or white? He then went out the back to take an inventory of the wine he currently had in stock. He came back with a hastily written list chardonnay, sauvignon blanc etc , no mention of labels of prices. We thought this was pretty shabby considering they advertise themselves as Fully Licensed. One might reasonably believe that if they are fully licensed they would have an adequate wine list. The food was average, and I daresay people who say otherwise don 't go to other Italian restaurants further afield. The dirty toilets are located in a dark dingy laneway behind the restaurant, don 't go out there on your own! The only thing this restaurant had going for it was its young waitstaff. They were efficient, almost as if they were trying to make up for the many deficiencies in this place. They were working non-stop while the manager sat at a table in the restaurant in front of patrons and ate while playing on his phone. Clearly he is the weak link in this place. My advice to anyone thinking of going to Nino 's is to get out and try outside the area, as this is definitely not a polished or professional restaurant."

"We were in the area during the COVID-19 Labor Day Weekend. We had been to the Mystery Spot and decided to take in a 2:00 PM lunch at The Gangplank as they had good reviews. They do not have many tables so we had to wait a few minutes for a second table as we had such a large group. Although the restaurant was not right on the water (it is across the street from it) it still has a nice view. The staff was friendly but the service was slow as we only saw one waitress working. However, it was a holiday so we were not in a hurry. The Gangplank has a large selection of sandwiches, burgers and some salads. Our table started off with the hummus and the wings appetizers. The hummus had so much flavor and was served with two yummy dipping crisps. Nearly all 10 of us ordered something different and it was all excellent. The portions were plentiful and cooked to order. Note: two people in our group work in the restaurant industry and are real foodies. They give The Gangplank two thumbs up!"
