"Our resort (Playa Escondida) recommended Mary’s for lunch. They shared that it was an authentic Mexican restaurant and they were spot on with the recommendation. We took a few seats that are outside (literally in the street, but they are safe) and immediately a waiter was there to get us our drinks along with chips and an assortment of salsas. We settled on shrimp tacos and a shrimp quesadilla. The shrimp were grilled perfectly, they had just a little char that brought out their best flavor. The quesadilla was piping hot, made with a fresh flour tortilla. Not too much cheese, just right with a nice slaw of veggies inside. Before we left my wife took a look inside and shared that a small group of women were the cooks and all I can say is that they did an incredible job. Sodas were cold and service was perfect. If you are in Sayulita and want a great meal stop in at Mary’s. Note- they were closed on Sunday when we were in town, October 2023, so check their schedule if you want a chance to eat here."

"Breakfast in the sea ALWAYS tastes better. That said the cook was a fantastic Shrimp Omelet. Ask for additional cheese and a page of bacon to make it the best."

"Before coming to live full-time in Sayulita I never thought of tacos as a breakfast dish. That has completely changed thanks to Prieto 's. I enjoy street food as much as anybody. However, after several bouts of gastrointestinal issues, I tend to shy away from street tacos in fear. Especially not worth it for people visiting for a week. Have no fear when it comes to enjoying the sumptuous carnitas at Prieto 's. My family and friends visit Prieto 's at least once a week (not Wednesday as they are closed) to feast on pork taco 's Michoacán style. I have never experienced any issues with their food. It always delicious. The portions for a $15 peso taco are very fair. You can 't go wrong. The salsas that come with the carnitas are the perfect toppers and are mild enough to enjoy with reckless abandon. I especially enjoy the roasted tomato and guacamole salsas. The service is fantastic as well. They are very attentive and responsive. Just remember in most Spanish speaking countries it is impolite for the waiter to give you the bill without you first asking for it. So don 't be shy when it 's time to leave, just say la cuenta por favor . So if you are a pork lover who would like to try something other than the traditional American breakfast, try the carnitas at Prieto 's. It is located downtown on the main thoroughfare Avenida Revolución just before the Plaza."

"First time at this restaurant. The food was good, but nothing to write home about. It is the first time I’ve had fajitas that didn’t come with guacamole. The meat was somewhat tough. The service was mediocre and we had to signal the waiter when we needed something. In my opinion the experience didn’t live up to the trip advisor reviews. Don’t know if we will give it another try."
