"Food, beverages and dessert were excellent! We dined on a Wednesday evening, which was to our advantage because it was quiet and service was very good. We have been when they are very busy and the service was agonizingly slow. All in all a wonderful spot for a birthday celebration"

"Came here for a Saturday brunch. We were craving some surf and turf. Steak and salmon. Have heard about this place and drove past but never tried. Valet was nice. We didn?t have reservations but we?re seated right away. Service was good. We ordered steak and salmon. The food was good. The steak was offered with a side of mash and sauce there was more sauce than steak. The salmon was fresh and there were no complaints. Food came out timely, and hot. No complaints. Has a mojito, the drink was good but not great for a $16 dollar cocktail. This definitely would need some work. Also it would be good that a place like this offer some type of breadsticks or some type of finger food, just seems weird that you sit there at an empty table waiting for your appetizers to come without so much as a breadstick and oil. For a restaurant this side that should be a hospitality must. The bar looked great, will come back during the evening to see what types of drink they can serve up. Overall a good experience, good food, good service in a nice quiet location."

"Can I give them 6 stars? Have been here many times for lunch and catering and it's never disappointed!!! All the sandwiches are delicious and the roasted veggie soup the best but I have to say it's the hardworking staff that makes it special. This is a family owned business and let me say nobody is working any harder. Worth every penny."

"After 5 years here I still get used to the green noodles in jajangmyung! Good food and good service here. Only the complaint is their decision, I think it's taken or dismissed. Just had jajangmyung Tongsu IN restaurant before 2 wks, absolutely delicious!! The best in the area! But last night we ordered ourselves over take-out and it was just okay. Everyone felt that the Tongau was not as fresh as when eating in the restaurant...soooo, I suggest eating here...don't make take-out as it doesn't fit the same level / taste. Apart from that, you will not eat disappointed here!"

"25 years later, I order Closter #1. Yes, in all this time there were some bad orders things happened, but 99.9% of the time the food is excellent. We have three more Chinese/Japanese restaurants that come closer to us, but they do not meet the same standard. That's the real deal."

"Located in Closter, the name of the establishment is derived from the word Schraalenberg, meaning barren mountain or hill during Dutch times. The owner, Ben Pollinger, who won a Michelin star in New York back in 2006, finally opens his own restaurant. Formerly on the site that housed Harvest, this restaurant is our first timer and describes itself as an attractive contemporary rustic farmhouse. From the minute one parks in their private parking lot and walks up to their gorgeous enclosed patio designed for outdoor dining, you will know you made the right choice! It was easy to get a reservation via Open Table, but they asked for a $25 per person deposit in case of no show. Upon entering yesterday, my partner,our friends and I were greeted by the host and whisked to our table in the main dining room. It's one of the rooms with plush blue chairs, striking light wood floors, a glorious cathedral ceiling, and a stunning stone fireplace. They also have a lounge area for additional dining with a bar and a private room upstairs on the next floor. Our server was Chelsea, who took care of all our requests and promptly brought complimentary focaccia bread with olive oil to start our meal. It was so good, we had to ask for seconds. The menu was limited and always changing. For starters, we decided on today's special: Turkish Style Falafel, Salmon Tartare and Sautéed Shrimp Crispy Polenta Cakes. For the main meal, we opted for Today's Special: Moroccan Style Wild Boar Tagine, Short Rib Mac N' Cheese, Slow Cooked Halibut, Roast Duck Breast and Organic Green. We even found a spot for dessert to share and got Chocolate Strawberry Cake and Chocolate Mousse. The food was cooked with fresh ingredients and was tasty and delicious. One suggestion to the Mac N'Cheese and wild boar would be to reduce a notch on the pepper. The staff is very personable. A little on the expensive side, but still great food. We can't wait for a repeat performance, and we can recommend it."
