"We were given a great table with view of the harbour. Food, cocktails service was all 1st class. We were surprised with a complimentary dessert as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Would definitely recommend!"

"After arriving at Folkestone for the day. Going to first fish stall, I politely asked the lady behind the counter if I could try a whelk. Low and behold she gave me a dirty look and said no unless that was her usual look)...she no you can’t I said sometimes there not tender, she said all mine our tender love. So rude we walked off . So we walked to chummys . Asked them the same question, with a reply of course you can . Atmosphere was lovely music food seats, Spent there and felt compelled on passing bobs and said to to the lady whilst holding my chummys takeaway you have lost for being rude. She shouted I don’t care, I said think you while holding bag up my pretty woman moment lol) As I walked off she came came flying out screaming at me like a fish wife lol. Lovely day out, never ever line that awful woman’s pockets ."

"We have used the Golden Bowl for decades and have always found the food delicious. We have used Chens Garden recently as they deliver but decided to collect from Golden Bowl for a change. We'll that was a mistake. We had heard it had changed hands and we had also heard mixed reviews recently but due to the many years of good food we had confidence. We had several different mains plus chips, rice and prawn crackers. Everything, except the chips (which weren't great but were edible), ended up in the bin. It was disgusting. Thick stodgy bland and tasteless. Literally unpleasant to eat. Even the prawn crackers weren't crisp and tasted of old cooking oil. We shared the chips and then got the cornflakes out! Maybe a one off but there is so much choice in Hythe we will be sticking with Chens in the future."

"Good, but not really great, in some ways 4.5? We booked at hotel Reception as requested. We wanted a late time, but were told 1900 and 1930 were fully booked anyway....surprised to find only one table taken when we arrived in the restaurant, so little atmosphere. Starters good, especially rabbit ballotine. Main courses mainly traditional English, but with nice sauces and garnish, good quality, generous portions. Note that grilled items do not include sides, whilst other mains do. Service pleasant and efficient. Prices appropriate for this kind of place. We enjoyed our meal, but might not return."
