"Very disappointing. The food was generally very good. We started out with a very good crab cake and shrimp cocktail appetizers. The salads that we had were excellent as well (heirloom tomato, chopped, and wedge). My dinner companions all enjoyed their filets. Mine came and as soon as I cut into it my waiter immediately noted that it was undercooked and took it away. It looked actually looked like it may have been a bad cut of meat, but I assumed the chef would notice that. The same piece of meat came back having been seared. The manager literally stood over me while I cut into again and asked in the most condescending way whether it was now too my liking. I had ordered my steak medium rare and when I cut into the double cooked piece of meat again it was still quite bloody. I was completely taken aback when the manager then said if you ask me, it looks medium rare but if I wanted, I could send it back again. I was literally speechless and told him it was fine. But it was not. I took a bite of the mushy mess that was now clear to me was a bad cut of meat and asked my waiter to please come take it away. I let our kind, helpful and attentive waiter know what happened. He was apologetic and sent a second manager who was also apologetic and offered us desert and after dinner drinks. The original manager, who was so insulting, never bothered to come back and apologize. In the end, without a steak in my belly, the four of us had the pleasure of paying $500 for our meal. Next time I am in need of a steak I will head to Durants."
