"Went for lunch mid walk with backpacks. We sat down to eat and were joined by one more so I pulled over another chair. The landlord came and said if I broke the chair (I'm 50k) Id have to pay for it. I had moved a chair from one table outside to another wooden bench one. The food was ok to good, the girls serving were lovely. They should take over! A couple of weeks later I called in again with a friend and backpacks assume they think we are not locals and therefore don't care. Again rudeness as he patrolled the garden checking we weren't there just to use the loos. He needs to focus his energy on better customer service and pr. The few locals he's on side with may not be continuing forever."

"My first time ever dining here. Went with my partner for her birthday and I must say I was very pleased with how the evening went. The drinks list had a large variety of different wines varying in origin. The cocktails they served was also a delight and a welcome change from other places. The food choice for starters were incredible, would highly recommend both the chicken terrine and the blue cheese mousse. When onto mains the steak I had was cooked perfectly and my partner said she has never eaten something better than the pheasant they had on offer. We didn't have room for desert but I will definitely have to be back for that because they also looked amazing. A lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and the wait staff were all so helpful and kind. The food came out quickly and was absolutely perfect. I must say one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Would definitely recommend to friends and I cannot wait to go again."

"A real jewel in Burgess Hill. As the rest of the town looks drab and boarded-up as part of the redevelopment, this place becomes better and brighter by the day. It serves some of the best, if not the best, coffee in the area. Staff are always pleasant, smiling and helpful. A particular mention for Phoebe serving the coffee with such style. It’s a pleasure to sit in the sun at the outside tables."

"Called up to book for my family of 4 and was greeted on the phone by Tom the landlord who couldnt of been friendlier if he tried. He was really helpful. The food itself was faultless. My partner loves a roast and enjoys The Ginger Fox and Glasshouse at Wickwoods but this roast topped it and alot cheaper too. Great customer service and will be returning"
