"Meine Frau und ich gehen des öfteren in das einfache, aber gemütliche Volkardeyer Stübchen. Der Service ist herzlich, unaufdringlich und prompt. Das Essen ist vielfältig, für jeden sollte etwas zu finden sein und man sollte auf die Tagesgerichte achten. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis empfinden wir (ist natürlich subjektiv) als einfach unschlagbar! Satt wird man immer und die Qualität ist gleichbleibend gut. Den Wein-Empfehlungen darf man trauen, das Pils wird überragend gezapft. Wer gut Bürgerlich und bezahlbar essen gehen möchte, macht hier überhaupt nichts verkehrt! Besser reservieren, da auch mal Gesellschaften vor Ort sein können. Danach bietet sich ein Spaziergang um den nahegelegenen See an. Wir kommen weiterhin sehr gerne wieder."

"I am usually not a fan of buffet, especially on dinner, but this place made it work. I highly recommend trying most of the stuff they offer, both cold starters and mains had lots of options to choose from - even for a person like me with a gluten-free diet. Staff was also very friendly and the chef himself came to point out each food that was or was not suitable, and they even prepared a special bowl of soup just for me as the regular one had pasta in it. I was surprised to meet three other members of the staff who either had problems with English or with info concerning the contents of the food, but luckily no language barriers with the chef. Full breakfast buffet I think is too expensive, but the continental one was filling enough. Some waiting because of my food allergy on the breakfast, but finally got special bread and enough other food for an ok breakfast."

"None of the reviews give a proper flavour of this place. Which is more of a dive than a restaurant, but a dive with lovely staff and a short but tasty menu on the basis of one dish!. It's a barcafé, not a restaurant, and...the staff were very helpful to this nonGerman speaking Brit, needed because the chalkboard menu is in German, not French despite the name. I played safe with steakfrites, which was a chunky piece of meat with a nice redwine sauce, with sauté potatoes rather than frites, with fresh spinach. Acceptable, not stunning, quality. At inc aperitif and couple glasses of local wine, decent value for money"
