"A nice Italian restaurant in the centre of Wurzburg. The waiter was very friendly, we ordered pasta and 'chianti'. Pasta was very delicious and the wine very good. And at the end a 'espresso italiano' . The price was decent."

"Das Lokal macht einen netten Eindruck und bietet auch einen kleinen Außenbereich zum Sitzen. Da sich das Lokal in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße befindet, stört es nicht, dass der Außenbereich direkt an der Straße ist.Die Antipasti sind in Ordnung - mir persönlich insgesamt mit viel zu viel Olivenöl. Ansonsten geschmacklich in Ordnung. Das Tagesessen zum Mittagessen war auch gut, frische Produkte und eine angemessene Portionsgröße. Einzig eine Salz- und Pfeffermühle wäre schön gewesen.Insgesamt bietet das Lokal solide Qualität. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist jedoch ausbaufähig, insbesondere wäre es wünschenswert einen preislich attraktiveren Mittagstisch anzubieten, da die Konkurrenz im Umkreis günstiger zu vergleichbarer Qualität anbietet."

"Was hier nach über einer Stunde Wartezeit auf den Teller kam war wirklich eine Zumutung. Tagesessen bestellt ---> ewig gewartet, Beilagensalat komplett braune Blätter und durchgeweichter Salat, "Bratkartoffeln" die schmecken wie geschälte Kartoffeln aus dem Glas und TK-Schnitzel die teilweise vor Fett trieften oder staubtrocken waren..... - sorry aber was wir früher hier lecker gegessen haben finden wir nicht annähernd wieder.Also ich weiß nicht wer da in der Küche steht - aber dann lasst es lieber bleiben....."

"Enjoy the view and people watching at the Alte Mainbruche, the beautiful pedestrian bridge over the Main river with a glass of wine from the Mainwein restaurant located right on the bridge. They sell a variety of local German wines and beer in a takeout...window in a real glass (pay 10 Euro extra, but get it back when you return the glass)."

"This is local tradition at its best. Nowhere else in Germany, at least as far as I know, can you bring your own food and consume it at its place that means as long as you buy a glass of wine to go with it....Wurzburg has a few more of these traditional establishments spread over the 'Altstadt '. But this old tradition does not mean that you cannot order food here. If you do, you will get the best homemade cooking you can think of. The tradition is that that wine bars closely located to a bakery (German Backer, therefore Back), call themself something like SternBACK, or in this case MaulaffenBACK, indicating in the last syllable (BACK) of the name of their establishment, that you are allowed to consume whatever you bought at the Bakery can be consumed here. Each time I visit Maulaffenback, the restaurant is full of locals, you also find the one or the other tourist here as well (like me), enjoying the special atmosphere. Needless to say, that the food offered here is excellent and the Franken wine on offer plentiful. I love it here and will always come BACK (no pun intended)."
