"My son and I got a quick bite. for two pints starter and two fish safer with chips that need five more minutes in the frit is a bit too much! we first asked if we had a good time. No, we didn't, but why didn't they offer us the price? instead of the full a la carte rate that is too expensive!"

"The food was well presented as usual; the starter came in good time; but the main has been delayed for almost 25 minutes and no explanation is offered. Tables of 4 who came to us (table of 2) were served their starter, porn and desert after we received our starter, but before our main. no updates were provided. the restaurant was busy (good for them in the current climate,) but there were times when social distancing was not observed. it felt claustrophobic. will still go back because I like the restaurant and the food, but clear some things need to be made too sharp to ensure that a profit (important, though this is) does not swallow good service and care and security of staff and customers."

"Waited at least 5 minutes for maitre d to direct us to appropriate restaurant. Bad start there. When we reached Halloumi we were told all ordering was done through QR codes, which included a 5% service charge. We stumbled through the online ordering (pre show menu) and half our menu arrived 5 minutes later. This made me think they were warming up pre-made dishes, an idea which was confirmed when I tasted the houmous which was completely tasteless. The pita was unappealing. I don’t think we have ever sent food back at a restaurant but this was disgusting. To their credit, the waiting staff apologised and offered a replacement. My wife said that if the replacement was as bad as the original we didn’t want it. We were offered other alternatives such A free drink. The gyros, when they arrived (before the calamari incidentally) also showed no evidence of flavour and consisted of big chunks of chicken/pork wrapped up in a thick pita roll. The overwhelming taste was the pita rather than the meat. Their outdoor drinking area was partially enclosed with a permanent roof. I’m not sure of the regulations but I thought people were not allowed to smoke or vape in such a situation; they were doing both. We spoke to a staff member about this who told us smoking was allowed in the area and offered to get a supervisor to discuss this. No one showed. So if you want bland inedible food at an expensive price, if you want to pay (including tip) before you’ve ever seen the food, or the service, and if you want something approaching service from two of goodness knows how many staff are on duty, then Cranside Kitchen Halloumi is for you. If you want a decent meal, stay well away from this place."

"Eating was delicious, service was bad when we were our main thing. we were hoping for dessert, but when someone approached us sometime, we were told that there was no dessert menu. they would come back and tell us what was available. they never had to pay the bill at the cash when nobody came near us."
