"We went for the Sunday roast. Meat and veg served 'family style '; in our case roast beef and gravy, mashed potatoes, roast cauliflower and Romanesco on 2 big platters. The meat was very yummy, but so rare and fatty that our knives wouldn 't cut it. We 'd been told it would be served medium rare to rare, which is perfect. Instead it seemed rare to almost blue. The veg ostensibly the least expensive part of the meal was quite scarce, but delicious. Not enough veg for 4 people, although the price per person is not high, so maybe that 's it. The table d 'hote comes with soup/salad and dessert. Beef barley soup was very tasty and the pumpkin pie was a real treat. Very good service and good wines to choose from. Once you add the booze in, the price of the meal was on the high side to our mind."
