"When in Valle D’Aosta I expected a certain kind of setting, quality of food and selection. I found the Baita Ermitage via a Slow Food App that listed the restaurants in the area that were part of the Presidio Slow Food. We usually eat well in the restaurants we find listed here, but nothing that makes me want to come back for more in the future. When we finally arrived at the Ermitage all the way up the mountain, I was not sure if the night drive from Entreves was worth it. Upon entering, the owner who, despite the packed restaurant was all smiles and sat us immediately at our reserved table greeted us. The staff were kind and patient, the ambient was rustic and warm and the primi were tasty! We tired 3 different primi in two just to be absolutely sure, or really because we couldn’t choose since they were so tempting and it turned out to be exactly the experience we were looking for. I recommend the gnocchi!"

"Great little restaurant. Food and service excellent. Free glass of wine on arrival and the owner also very good at recommending the house wines. Had the Chateaubriand and specialty Gnocchi both were excellent. Highly recommended, with wide and varied selection of food and wine as well as daily specials."
