"I tried the ground chicken pad ka paow over rice, Thai hot. It was mediocre but satisfying in a sort of mall food-court sort of way, if you know what I mean. The spice level was lower than I expect for ordering "Thai hot". It seems the upper limit for spice here isn't so great.<br>

The flavor is simple and unbalanced. It's dominated by savoriness and saltiness from fish sauce and spiciness from chilis. The ground chicken was somewhat dry and bland. There is a fair amount of liquid present in the bottom of the plate/container that is flavorful but it's so thin that it doesn't stick to the meat."

"We had the wagyu fullblood, calamari, crab/pasta and the wedge salad. The food was very good and prepared to perfection. The wedge had a twist from what im used to and it was great. The calamari was not the typical fried/breaded platter that I normallysee but it was small portioned with a very complementary sauce. The drinks and staff were nice as well. The wagyu tasted like agreat steak. I couldn't tell the difference between wagyu and the other top grade steaks from other fine restaurants. Thisdidn't meet my expectation as I was looking for something to really set it apart from other great steaks via texture or flavor.It was delicious and very good but typical."

"I've lived in Roanoke for 30+ years and This is the first time we visited Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse and we were pleasantly surprised. The food and service were very good and very well priced. The variety of patrons was reminiscent of the DMV. Everyone was represented from little babies, to men in suits, old white guys in Bermuda shorts to face tattooed dudes with dreadlocks. Apparently, I've been missing out and everyone knew but me! We'll certainly be back."

"As a local I am here several times over the years and really never had a bad meal. Your location right in the heart of downtown Roanoke makes it to visit locals and people from the city. I usually try to order something else every time, because everything on the menu looks good from appetizers to salads and main dishes. This time I ordered the herbal baked goat cheese salad with Dijon vinaigrette dressing. I don't know why I didn't order it before, but it's up on my list now. But the duck is what led me to write this review. The darkened tuna with Andouille sausage Risotto is to die!! I think it could be one of my favorite dishes from a restaurant and I have been old and in many restaurants in many different states. If you are a seafood and Risotto lover, you must try this; I know you agree"

"The food is ordered at a counter and then brought to your table. The staff was friendly. The food was good. We got a couple pizzas and an appetizer. I was confused why the drinks state Italian tea and soda when it appeared to be all normal drinks. The tables are not very comfortable."
