"I've known Legro for a long time as a wine supplier. There you get Italian wines, spirits, delicacies etc. of all kinds. For several years Legro has also been offering a small but fine lunch kitchen that I have not enjoyed yet. We were attentive to the offer of an Italian breakfast with a Groupon voucher. A few days ago I reserved a table and pointed to the children. And the fact that we want to arrive late for breakfast: small problem, until 11:00 you will definitely get something. We arrived at 11:30 and found our table covered. Coffee and tea were served immediately. The children got the desired juice. Breakfast includes everything you know: sweet and hearty. Marmelade like Ital. Salami, sausage and cheese. Another German egg. Our desire for more salami was naturally also fulfilled. All in all a successful late breakfast. With the Groupon coupon at half price you can of course not complain."

"We were on our laborious way from NRW to Berlin and having spent too many hours parked in one traffic jam after another on the famous German car parks (autobahnen - motorways) we decided to cut our losses and find somewhere for evening dinner. We checked out our car's navigation system and found Ristorante Filippo & Peppone located not far from the A2. On entering the sleepy village of Langenhagen we realised that this establishment had a new name - La Villa Grande.We parked for free in the car park on the other side of the road and ran through the rain to the restaurant. The owner was very welcoming and we were soon settled in a corner seat and ordering our drinks - shandy and Lambrusco red wine. We shared bruschetta as a modest starter and I followed this with beef liver, onions, apples wedges and mixed vegetables. My dining partner asked for a salad - one that she described to meet her taste and was then prepared to perfection. We liked the flexibility here. I finished up with a double espresso and a free glass of grappa. This establishment was nice enough - we presume that it used to be a much larger German style "Landhaus" type of restaurant given the fixtures and fittings. Not really a cosy, intimate Italian, but OK."
