"Our last day in Vienna was ruined by a visit to this heuriger. We had heard about heurigers from a local and as avid wine and food enthusiasts we could think of no better way to spend our last day in this beautiful city of Vienna. Sadly we chose this one and the way in which we were treated had me in tears and has given me lasting poor memories the city.We sat at tisch (table) 31, from about 1520, to approximately 1830. I would have left sooner, but my darling husband had spent so much time researching how to get there and what they served, that we persevered.Service started off OK, with the first two or so rounds of drinks being served relatively promptly. Then I made the supreme mistake of going inside to order food. There was a gentleman in front of me who took some ten minutes to choose his food for himself and all of his massive family while I waited patiently directly behind him in full view of four of the staff members. Just as he left and I stepped forward to be served an incredibly ignorant woman stepped right in front of me and the staff, all of them, completely ignored my extensive wait and proceeded to serve her without demure. I was gob-smacked and all of the staff saw that, but made no attempt to make amends and continued to snub me and serve her. I went back to my table in utter disgust.As my German language skills are slightly better than my husband's, I felt compelled to return to attempt to order food and the young lady that spoke English stepped forward to serve me. I made a point that I had been passed over and snubbed which she was well aware of, and she made no apology, despite having been party to that incident. I chose not to make a scene, although in retrospect I should have, and ordered food instead. The food took a ridiculously long time to arrive and for completely unknown reasons the hot dish arrived some five or ten minutes before the cold dish. In the meantime, we foolishly decided we would like a glass of rosé each with our food. Completely unable for some twenty minutes to flag down our waiter, an older lady with blond hair, I went to the bar and found a young man to request the wine from. Some ten or fifteen minutes later, my husband had nearly finished his meal and no wine. I went to the bar again and was told to return to my table for a waiter to come to me. I had now been trying that approach for some 30 minutes or more with no success. Eventually our waiter was dispatched to us and we received our wine some 45 minutes after trying to obtain it. I really think the waiter was just bone-lazy.I had the feeling that this is just how they treat visitors, maybe locals don't have this experience, so I would say that if you are a visitor to Vienna do not put yourself through this experience and stay well away from this establishment."
