"We visited the Railway this weekend, which we found on Google when asked for 'carveries near me ' we were in the area with some friends. The landlady said she could get us in when I phoned and enquired, and when we arrived a while before our booking time to have a drink, they got our table ready and we were all done with our meal before time. Impressed!! It was busy but didn 't affect the service or standard of food. Meat was perfect and the range of veg was staggering!! Nine different types. We scoffed the lot and were stuffed. It really was yummy. Wouldn definitely recommend to anyone in the area. Was a lovely dinner!! Thanks!!"

"I’m on a mission to find a decent Sunday roast, unfortunately I didn’t find it today… I’ve heard great reviews from friends about The Castle Inn so decided to give it a go today. We were shown to a tiny table that had no hope of accommodating our plates plus the vegetable serving plate and gravy boat so my husband asked for a takeaway instead of dining in, despite being told they were fully booked and had no other table miraculously they found us somewhere else to sit (much appreciated btw). The meal arrived and the portions were very generous. The vegetables were all cooked well and my turkey was moist and well cooked, my beef was very chewy though. The mashed potato (of which there was loads) was so overpowering with pepper it was inedible. The roast potatoes were chargrilled but fluffy inside. My husbands gammon was dry. We were asked if the meal was ok and it was just about ok, certainly not good. Unfortunately this is another local establishment where I won’t be eating a Sunday roast again"

"6 of our family members went to the ball house for dinner today. We weren't disappointed, there was a range of food for us with different needs. The lady on the front was wonderful and very helpful. We will definitely be going back, Highly recommended this place to everyone."

"Absolutely marvellous plates of fish and chips. Lovely beer battered cod and haddock. The chips weren’t too shabby either. Home made not the commercial ones. Would highly recommend to anyone."

"Wanted to find a good Indian in Boston , a real struggle.,all very bland and inconsistent Tried Spice village , the owner could not have been more helpful. Very limited menu , bur the Food was Goan authentic, extremely tasty and of a very high standard. Fresh produce really well prepared, ONeil was full of advice and willing to please, deserves to be discovered."

"Every time you challenge my review, I shall repost it ! This is a honest review on my experience!! Over cooked food on both visits. Over cooked steak, over cooked sunday roast. Well done roast beef, veg boiled to tasteless mush, tasted like deep fried or packet roast potatoes?? Did not feel it was worth the 6.95 even with the free pudding... Awful!! Dated decor and rude owner, won't be back !! Such a shame as great location and could be a really nice place."

"We stopped en-route to the coast at about 3 o’clock in the afternoon to break the journey. Food ordered from the 2 for £11-49 menu arrived promptly served by a very polite waiter. The meals were hot and tasty and well worth the money. As the driver I opted for a cappuccino to drink, duly dispensed by machine, however I found this to be quite weak. Thinking about it I suppose I should’ve added a shot of espresso. If we happened to be passing again and wanted to eat we would def stop again"
