"Tidy premises in tidy location car parking off road. We always pop in for a takeaway fish n chip supper when passing through Llechryd. on the way back from Cardigan and the west coast.We love our Fish suppers but I have got to really like...the huge spicy Spring Roll and Chips just as much. The serving is well portioned and GREASE FREE very clean and presented food. Excellent attentive and friendly service a pure breath of fresh air these days."

"Good food prepared in a reasonable time. Portion sizes were good, the haddock was massive! Not the cheapest but to be fair this isn't McDonald's and you get what you pay for! Also, toilets were spotless!"

"Lovely building, spacious and clean. Good menu, we ate garlic mushrooms and gammon and chips, good service and tasty, well cooked food. BUT the evening was spoiled for us by a group of VERY loud males who spent the whole time we were there ‘talking’ so loudly they were practically shouting, interspersed with lots of ‘f’ words, we really couldn’t hear each other speak and it got very wearing. We didn’t bother to stay for dessert, just wanted to get out for some peace. Such a shame as it’s a lovely venue."

"We have visited this fish bar in the distant past and we found it pretty good, however, we came here about a month ago and we felt that the chips were perhaps reheated.We thought that this could just be a one off. On Tuesday we were dropped off there by the local garage as my car was in for service. On entering the shop was completely empty. We waited only a short time. I had Minced Beef and Onion Pie with chips and gravy. I don't know why but I am in the habit of picking a chip off the plate with my fingers and biting the end off before I start my meal properly. As I bit into the chip it felt very crispy which was okay as many chips have a crisp coating. However, as I bit further into the chip I realised that the whole chip was hard all the way through. The entire plate of chips were the same as were my wives. The Pie was alright and so was my wifes Fish but, we both agreed that these were the worst chips we had ever eaton. My wife didn't eat many they were just too hard. I am a bit of a die hard when it comes to chips so I ate most of them making sure that they were well soaked in gravy first but still they were very hard. We didn't make any comment to the owners as they are very nice people and we didn't want to upset them on the day. However, we have to say that we will unfortunately never eat in there again!"

"Myself and my wife visited whilst in Borth. We went to the bar and whilst a man behind the bar said hello he otherwise ignored us and proceeded to serve a local who walked in after us. Another barman appeared and I asked him if they were serving food and from what time. He said he had no idea and suggested we went to another area of the pub to find out. I them ordered a pint of Butty Bach and the barman returned with a half pint. After that I gave up and took my business elsewhere on the basis I the locals take priority over strangers 2 staff have no knowledge of the business they are running and 3 staff do not listen to customers. So don't expect a nice welcome or good service at the Railway Inn in Borth, as you will be disappointed on both counts. In my humble opinion, the management of this pub need to have a bit of a rethink about their approach to first time customers. We left before we had the opportunity to try either their food or the real ale on offer, so cannot comment on either."

"Dog friendly pub, our dog was allowed in the lounge. We visited on a Thursday and both had pie and a pint for £10. Amazing value and the homemade chicken and gammon pie was packed so full of meat and everything very tasty and hot. Puds are only £3.50 and also homemade we both tried sticky toffee pudding and custard, absolutely lush! Is was so good we came back again the next (and last) night of our hols. They had pulled pork in a bun with chips and coleslaw with rhubarb crumble to follow for £10! We both had this although I had chocolate brownie instead of crumble, everything again was fab. Staff are friendly and efficient, place is your basic village pub, but the food is just great. Wish we had found this sooner in our weeks holiday!"
