"Lucy was a lovely server! She was very attentive polite and friendly. She welcomed us with a big smile each time she came over to the table and helped to meet all of our needs. She recommended us the brownie sundae and it was delicious! Amazing service and amazing food!!!"

"Have been many times, mainly for the food as it’s always delicious for a fair price. The atmosphere is nice and staff always friendly. Nice to sit inside in winter and outside for summer too."

"Me and my partner and pup went down for breakfast on Sunday and it was so lovely. Free tea and coffee which is unlimited and a lovely touch. The staff were so lovely especially the lady behind the bar (25th Feb 10:30ish) went above and beyond and even gave my pup a treat. Food was super fast and presentation was great and tasted amazing. Definitely will be back"

"I have to say this is the best carvery in Syston, all food is homemade, fresh roast potatoes a great choice of meat and fresh hand chopped vegetables, really worth the visit with a warm smile from staff very welcoming..I would suggest booking we were lucky to walk in and be accommodated, percent value for money...thank you guys you were all soooo lovely...not as lovely as the gravy though see you all again very soon"

"We were one of the first people to be served on Friday lunch 12 o’clock we arrived earlier had a drink and noticed that the Yorkshire puddings were on the hot plate at 11.20am. Wished I’d of gone with my instinct and not had the carving. It was stone cold at 12 the meat was cold cauliflower cheese cold potatoes cold gravy lukewarm. So I thought I’d mention to the waitress didn’t see one not one person came over cleared our plates asked if we were ok nothing , pots crockery was everywhere totally overwhelmed by the 20 or so people who turned up. No temperatures are obviously taken or the hot plate doesn’t work. Something is definitely wrong you may be serving a lot of people but serving cold food is not acceptable- we were not the only people saying this and the table next to us mentioned it to a waitress and her response was ok !!!will definitely not be going back"

"We visited The Anchor on Christmas Eve for our Mum’s birthday and had such a good time! The food was great…all homemade and cooked to perfection, but what made the evening for us was how welcoming everyone was! The landlord came over (after we’d finished eating , introduced himself and stayed for a chat even though it was his night off we had a lovely chat with his wife too. The Bar Manager was equally as friendly and welcoming…it felt like we’d know her for ages, not 2 hours and there were hugs when we left : We will definitely be back and would recommend this pub to anyone. Thanks for a great evening guys!"

"Very nice. local friendly, staff professional and welcoming. bier was excellent and wein good. Right local pub and menu looked tempting and not over gentrified that is rare nowadays. some people still want a pub, no restaurant and that is exactly that. will be back regularly. well done."
