"As a group of 10 we visited the plough on 1st September, the manager and his wife could not have done enough for us. Lovely food, lovely atmosphere, lovey service. Would definitely recommend thankyou so much for making it a great night."

"Warning to any trade people asked to work for them...DONT!! I was asked to attend a site meeting and provide work, having detailed exact costs of each stage. Since providing the work, and being chastised for doing it too quickly(! , I have been told they will not pay the invoice. No reason has been given. In nearly six years of trading, this is the first client to not pay me. It might be a nice place to stay, but its in Banbury...so proabably not."

"Staying in the area again for the Bicester Scramble, my husband requested our group eat again at this pub as last years’s visit was very good. I pre- booked and this went well, even accommodating my friend’s dog and ringing us back. When we arrived,...we looked at the menu which was not as extensive as we remembered. We were then informed that several items of food were not available as such a busy day. This happens. Fair enough. So we ordered other choices which we all agreed could have been much better, one choice was a medley of surprising different elements as if giving what was left. We were pretty disappointed and did not stay for desserts. Pretty empty too so no atmosphere on a Saturday evening. The lady herself seemed rather fed up and may have had a busy day. What a difference a year makes."

"Location on parson st, perfect location in the city center and they can not miss this rustic sign! interior equipment for an incredibly interesting location, there is clearly a lot here, we sat in the back room, which required a walk down some backkorridore and seemed to be something from medieval TV show, it doesn't feel like somewhere that smuggelt incredibly fritted castle. have I been wrong? service order them at the bar and take their own drinks on the table (it is a pub right, somehow expected that.) but the two youngs who worked were both super friendly and even though their table service provided only the food that I did not complain, they have a system and it works. Food/drinks we go through the eating court of court crispy fried pure deer rooster burger these where we have come and they are not disappointed. the chicken was super tender and the crispy in a burger lubricated and served with many chips and wobble rings. mac and cheese another healthy part of the Gooey-Chaesie pasta with two slices of roasted garlic bread. no complaining to such a vegan katsu curry a baked vegan patty covered in a pretty tasty homemade sauce, the rice was a bit generic but overall a good food. fish and chips a clip of the menu, good portion size and not too fat. a total of another good meal wild mushrooms and pesto linguine oh deer "

"We went here based on some reviews and that is was fairly local to where we have just moved to and on the whole we had a very decent meal, just spoilt by a very yappy jack russel in the bar area. I totally get that the owner was probably a local and goes in several times a week and spends a lot of money..but that ain't our fault and it did spoil an enjoyable evening. Hand cut chips were awesome, the kids loved the burger and the steak was lovely according to our daughter..I had the veggie penang curry and this was a bit disappoining..smallish portions and not very hot at all...shame as the thought was there. puddings were awesome though, we each had a different one and they all went down a storm.. good choice for vegetarians which was great...perhaps too much choice if i am being picky but lovely service.,..just shame about the dog and by the way we have 3 dogs ourselves so we aint anti dog!"

"I went in this pub as a party of 4 going down the canal, on reaching cropredy we realised there wasnt many places to eat and only 1 shop, actually walking round it was rather like a Mid summer murders set, i half expected the...church steeple to fall on someones head, but it was a nice village, On entering the Red lion we were met with a very warm welcome from the land lord and staff who couldnt do enough for us, we sat in the side room as it was quite busy at the time, Due to covid/staffing shortage they are not serving food everyday at the moment, however this did not cause any problem as they offered to let us order fast food from bambury and even eat it in there pub, this really helped us out as options where limited, We chatted to staff for a while about the canals and places to go, next on our journey was banbury, they offered some great advice on which pubs to go to and possibly a few to avoid, i can absolutly recomend listening to them as obviously we got drunk and ushered"
