"Lovely friendly independent cafe based in the church at Frizington. When we went we had booked because it gets packed out by local residents. My friend is local but I was visiting . We ordered tea for two and a lovely big pot with China cups and saucers arrived. More hot water to top up the pot no problem ! My friend had a delicious massive) omelette , salad and chips. I had the steak pie gorgeous gravy) , vegetables and again the wonderful home made chips best ever) . Crumbles or ginger cake with custard for dessert. I just loved the lively atmosphere . So great to see a place thriving in the north west lakes. A real hidden gem."

"Came in here seeking a bar snack. They were very busy but squeezed us in and laid a table for us. We both opted for the 'small roast ' and oh wow! Not very small but wonderfully cooked, prepared, and presented. So much good chunky meat, perfected roasted potatoes, and (unusually for pub food roast dinners) perfect vegetables. All piping hot and smothered in rich gravy. Bar staff very helpful and working so hard with big smiles on their faces. A great find."

"The Scree inn does not stick to its opening times. Out of the four days we were there it was open once. The Strands Inn, which is owned by the same people, was too busy the woman sent us away. She was really rude!"

"I would highly rate and recommend this cafe. We ate here twice during our holiday stay in Bootle. Our first visit was for breakfast and the food was so delicious. The food was all very fresh and of excellent quality. Our second visit was for lunch. Again, it was of a high standard. There was a very good variety of food choices and the food was lovely. All the puddings are home made and the scones are the best I've ever had."

"We had a private dinner and accommodation booked the Sella Park Hotel. The restaurant food and service was fantastic. The staff couldn't do enough to make sure every person was happy. Would highly recommend a visit to the restaurant and staying in the hotel. Fantastic Night with great company."

"So pleased we found this pub. We are staying 10 minutes away in Lamplugh and read some amazing reviews for food and we were not disappointed. The portion sizes were HUGE we ordered beer battered fish and chips, the fish was cooked to perfection and chips were home cooked. We witnessed a burger leave the kitchen and it was so big! I had scampi which was delicious. We sat by the fire and enjoyed the cosy feeling around us. I would most definitely recommend this place."
