"If you find yourself in Eugene, Oregon, Cornbread Cafe is a must try. They serve breakfast classics, salads, sandwiches, and a $16 BYOM which comes with an entree, two sides, and delicious jalapeño cornbread. I had the chik’n fried tempeh with gravy and enjoyed every bite. The crunchiness and spice of the breading is top notch, and the country gravy it came smothered in tastes just like my mom used to make it. No complaints about the sides either! The only issue we had was the cinnamon roll, which was so tough that I could barely chew it enough to swallow. However, I am sure that the baked goods are excellent early in the day— my mistake was ordering a cinnamon roll at 4 in the afternoon."

"Had a bad experience here this morning. Hadn't been here in a few years so I can't judge it against recent experiences, they could have just been having a bad morning. It was crowded. But we waited about 55 minutes for our food. At 45 minutes weinquired, she said the kitchen was behind and understaffed. This is the new norm everywhere. They had plenty of front end help. She could have offered free 2nd coffees or a pastry, but she did not. When the food finally arrived it was cold, and myfriends order was not even correct. We did complain. She said she'd speak to the manager. She came back with two free drinkcoupons and said our food price would be refunded. Won't know if this really happens until next week) This is really great, except she was clearly annoyed at us did not bother to try and hide it. She was not genuine at all and probably complained toher co-workers about us. I get it, I'm sure she works hard for not a lot of money. It was just a long time to wait for coldfood that wasn't even correct. In the meantime, they don't take your name for coffee orders so they just yell the drink names,constantly. This makes the atmosphere kind of stressful. Most other reviews are good, so I guess we patronized them at thewrong time. :"

"I really enjoy the grain bowls, such as its Soylent Green. The tempeh and mushroom gravy are great! The staff was really friendly to me, and I was a smelly, sweaty, hungry thirsty customer who just bicycled a long ways. The delicious iced tea had free refills [even for dehydrated bicyclists]. At least the meat they serve isn't factory-farmed. I hope they've remedied the problems from their earlier negative reviews. I wish service, atmosphere a menu like this could be found in the SF Berkeley area!"
