"I usually visit here a couple of times a year for family gatherings. I always go for the Carvery. The food is excellent and you can go back and refill your plate with more veg if you wish. Friendly and comfortable pub. Never a had a bad experience. It's usually quite busy and you may be asked to wait before being seated. But it's easy to understand why it's so popular. Today's visit had 16 in our group and we were treated exceptionally well by the staff."

"Been here a few times now, I think it is one of the best value restaurants in Liverpool. Lovely setting in the outdoor area. We ordered the mixed grill which was superb: lamb chops, souvlaki, chips all excellent, and me and my son were satisfiably stuffed for £30. Service really good and when I wanted to leave a tip, server confirmed that the tips go to them and not into the owners pocket (for me this is really important! Highly recommended."

"Great beers, Great wines, lovely well cooked food. Olives, Whitebait, a large salad, cod with hassleback potatoes and a great sauce, 3 homemade Icecreams to share. One pint real Ale, a great bottle of Raix Baxas Albariño . £95 including 10% tip. Difficult to beat in Liverpool for us."

"We called in at lunch time on Sunday and ordered a hot beef sandwich and a Sunday roast. The sandwich was nice enough, not like the menu makes out, it was served in normal sliced white bread, thin sliced beef and a small portion of roast potatoes, tasty enough. The roast dinner was a good sized portion, totally swimming in gravy, I would ask for it in a jug next time, the veg was hot, the turkey warmed by the gravy was tender. Reasonable prices, friendly service and a comfy pub."
