"What a brilliant place to go,weather for a drink or meal. The food is fantastic and very well priced. The atmosphere chilled and the staff are spot on. After your meal sit in the superb beer garden which is an amazing sun trap. Yep this place has it all even Sky Sports."

"This was a very welcoming and friendly place to spend an evening in an idyllic location. We came for an engagement party and it was a great place for that. The buffet was made in house and it was the best buffet food I have ever experienced. I just know I will never find a scotch egg at that standard again for a very long time."

"Using the libelle for a stay with the drachenflies was always really satisfied with the quality of the food and the restaurant as a whole. yesterday the meal was very despicable. I had Tbe-Gammon, who was annoyed with a fried egg to have left the egg. the grinding time arrived with about 12 very fat chips and a gammonsteak. there was no salate or veg added look very bad on a large plate. most chips were wasted. since we use this restaurant all couple weeks, we may need to think again with this restaurant if the food quality continues to worsen."

"We visited the pub as a, stopover in our motorhome on our way back from holiday. Our party was two adults and our 11-year old son. I called in advance to check this was OK. The staff on the phone were positive and helpful. When we got to the pub we were given a ticket to put in the windscreen to show we were patrons of the pub and don't need to pay for pay and display. The car park was large, but relatively busy with patrons from the pub as well as Walkers. However, we managed to park no problem and and it would have been possible to move our van to a quiter spot if we wanted to later on. Thete was a little miscommunication about booking us a table but the manager was so friendly and said he would definitely find a way to fit us in and feed us. This was much appreciated after our journey. The pub serves roasts on a Sunday. These are on a first-come, first-served basis, serving until the food has run out. It was possible to reserve a table and many of the tables had reserved times on. At around 2:30 p.m. I heard someone turned down as the food had run out. So it is definitely worth getting that earlier if you want to eat on a Sunday. However, there is a cafe on site, which served till around 3:30 p.m. as I understand it. Dogs were very welcome. In fact, there were some great raw treats for sale on the bar for doggy friends. We had a choice of pork or beef roast. The lamb needed to be ordered in advance, which we weren't told on the phone, but it didn't really matter. The roast beef, which we all had, was really tender and lovely. It was served with roast potatoes, parsnips, a couple of Yorkshire puddings, and pig in blanket. There was also a lovely big plate of vegetables to share between three of us. There was a lot of gravy and the waitress offered to bring even more, should we need it! Me and my son had the Eton Mess for pudding, which was very nice. It had fresh strawberries and lovely creamy ice cream. I felt the meal was good value, with three of us having roast, two puddings and also 2 pints of soft drink and beer for under £50. The pub was a little bit scruffy inside and probably in need of a little updating. However, the friendliness and kindness of the staff and value for money of the food definitely made up for this. It was good to be able to walk our dog at the nearby estuary following our meal. We also found a lighthouse which had been converted to a home. We assume this is the reason for the name of the pub."

"My husband came here today and came home with what can only be described as double cooked shrivelled chips. I wasn’t best pleased I had had vowed never to go here again after me buying a family chip shop tea and that being swimming in grease. On contacting them via face book they had the cheap to say that clearly they are not to my taste! When good is freshly cooked they are not shrivelled, no one wants food swimming in grease. So if that is to your “taste” then go here but if this is your idea of food hell like it is mine best avoid. It’s a shame as I like to buy local."
