"Quick pop in today with family. Just gone 12pm on a Thursday and particularly busy. Found a nice table and ordered the food and drinks at the bar. Staff are great. I chose here because of the extensive menu so all 4 of us were catered for including the vegetarian among us and the good prices. A lot of the meals were under £10 which is handy these days. Was told by one of the family that the roast beef on the roast of the day was a bit tough but ok. Got to admit I was a bit disappointed with my “homemade corned beef pie” as it was simply a bit of puff pastry sliced in half with a dollop of hash inserted inside. Not the beautiful short crust pastry plate pie most pubs and cafe’s serve up. Overall, a decent enough visit for the quality and price but nothing that excites. Service was very good even though busy and the place is very dog friendly."

"Getting a reasonably priced meal these days is becoming more and more difficult however the station still does it. Pie, home made chips, peas and gravy for 9.95. Good portion and tasty with it. Staff friendly and helpful and even came over to ask if the food was fine. Wine still cheap. My only criticism is that that there is no real beer, its all lager or fizzy pop beer. Don't think I've been in a pub for a long time that doesn't stock proper beer."

"Great food went to Sunday dinner. only the things I would change are the bratkartoffeln. they were massive. as if they were cut into half. be better if they were smaller. the meat portions were abit small. but in everything it was a beautiful meal."

"Went here on a bustling Saturday afternoon for drinks with friends. The atmosphere was great, full of people and a good vibe about the place. Good selection of drinks available and service was relatively quick given how busy it was. Would recommend and return again!"

"Damn great chips from here yesterday! absolutely delicious! had been thinking about whether we get curry sauce or gravy and we decided for curry sauce and did not regret it. chips, battery bits and curry sauce! absolute tasty and a Northeast Delicacy! please come here and get this in your mouth!"

"What a fantastic find. There was a huge selection of fillings for sandwiches as well as gorgeous hot food homemade I personally love Val's mince and dumplings. The new owners are very friendly and very accomodating. Can't wait to go back and try the pease pudding as I've heard that it's fab. Well done Val and Kevin your doing great. Keep up the good work."
