"I had the privilege and honour of dining with Deena Naidoo (South Africa 1st Master Chef) on Saturday evening at his restaurant Aarya at Monte Casino.He recommended his trio of curries - butter chicken, Durban prawn curry and a mixed bean and potato curry. The butter chicken had a delicate creamy flavour with chicken pieces which were cooked to perfection.The prawn curry was delicately flavoured with a rich tomato gravy cooked with the right bite.The last dish in this trio was the mixed bean and potato curry.Authentically flavoured with the beans and potato melt in the mouth.The staff were very attentive.I ordered a medium cream sherry which was not available.Our waiter went the extra mile to source the sherry and surprised me with their own twist.We ended the evening off with an upside down cheese cake served in a " kilner, jar" and this was an explosion of flavours as one had to dig deep down into the jar to experience the different taste profiles. AARYA was full with a steady flow of walk in clients celebrating all sorts of occasions and enjoying the fabulous food that Deena Naidoo and his restaurant Aarya has become known for.Highly recommend a visit."
