"Steam Cafe South Brisbane. Along the many eateries overlooking the river southern part of the river, there is a fair few choices to be made. More or less you are more going for the location than the food, and in certain parts there are a few fantastic choices for diner. At the end of the dining scene, many would say that it is the far end of the fine dining, where it becomes closer to fast food/food court style; they would not be incorrect. Which brings up to this place. While, of course it is not the best cafe around by a long or narrow stretch, it is not anywhere near as bad as the reception on here is making it out to be. "They like chili here. Both the olive entree and chicken burger had enough chili to let your lips know. The olives were served warm and a decent serve size. The burger was tasty with crunchy bacon and cheese. The Monday $15 special of a schooner and burger is a good deal on this area. <br>

Service was a bit slow considering there were only a handful of people in the place. But there was only one person working the kitchen too.<br>

Nice ambience with room to move onto the street during the earned days. The music was at a volume that allowed conversation without telling. ✔️"

"A modest unassuming venue with good old school food. We attended a reunion with a buffet meal attached - $30 for all you can eat roast chicken, pork, lamb and baked vegetables, followed by individual pavlovas with fresh whipped cream and fruit salad. The food of my childhood and totally enjoyable."

"Tried the traditional English Fish n chips. Complete garbage batter was still white an soggy inside got indigestion from it, chips are tasteless pre frozen type thrown into fryer, nothing whatsoever traditional about it. $30 rippoff far as I'm concerned."
