"Had a lovely day here .This is a beautiful place to visit , it was nice to learn some of the history of the place and how Lord Lichfield came to own it .The grounds are vast and lovely to walk around on a sunny day.Its well worth a visit and it's not an expensive day .They have a shuttle bus that takes you from the entrance upto the large mansion. The place has two gift shops , a lovely little cafe and a little farm area with some animals which is nice for children to visit."

"We visited with a group of 10 people on Remembrance Sunday. It was very busy and we hadn’t booked (sorry ! however we managed to sit together and eat in the bar no problem. Despite being very busy , staff were friendly and helpful . Queue for carvery looked off putting but it actually moved very quickly . Carvery was great , very good value , hot and tasty . Brussels were a bit hard but otherwise very happy. Parsnips were lovely Yorkshire puddings were HUGE and very good . Thanks to Maggie the crew serving on the carvery who were very Friendly and helpful too!"

"Came in just for drinks having moored our narrowboat on the canal nearby. We were met with the most friendly welcome, treated like we were old friends! Good choice of beers too. We will, without a doubt be back each time we pass as our boat is moored at nearby Aston Marina."

"This has been my regular choice of Chip Shop for as long as I can remember. The shop has changed with the times throughout the years, with great additions to the menus. The chicken kebab meat is lovely, the fish and chips are excellent, and the kids menus are also a favourite for the nipper. A great team and clean premises."

"Excellent meal on Tuesday lunchtime. Daughter and I were made welcome, thoroughly enjoyed a course meal including special Shrove Tuesday pancake menu! Loved watching the llamas and sheep such fun!! Splendid food and service thank you!"

"Booked a table 13.00hr 12/02/22 my mother I were welcomed by warm friendly staff, shown to our table where we made ourselves comfortable. We were then handed the menu. We ordered drinks then our lunch soon our meal came very well presented by the front of house staff who were very helpful pleasant. We both really enjoyed our meal at a very reasonable price I've paid a lot more for a meal elsewhere like M C would highly recommend The Black Lake Inn"

"Ok short and sweet , not been for few months reviews looked good so give a go. Did not go well we ordered starter to share that was fine. Main course One mushroom stroganoff and one sizzling platter chill beef. We were served beef stroganoff and one non sizzling plate of not crispy beef. Staff want to get it right and return my beef my husband stayed with his dish as doesn’t like to fuss . They then returned with the most cremated plate of food I’ve ever been served ! Why did they think that was ok and why serve it. They said chef new and Spanish and interpretation problem. Obviously didn’t eat food and found it quite odd staff insisted they were sorry and would not be charging me for my meal that I did not have. When leaving I did say that obviously I wouldn’t pay for aMeal I did not have but why not do something to compensate for the fact I did not have my meal and paid for starter , drinks and incorrect main course for husband !!! Incredulous you have a long way to go and you were not busy we were one of two couples eating. Not impressed at all"
