"Our group of four friends have been using the Railway Inn Pelsall on a weekly basis for over 20 years and have never in all that time experienced any problems with service, meals, food or the quality of the real ales being offered. They say that all good things come to an end. Well in the case of the Railway it ended as soon as the pub changed hands and went under new management. Overnight all the superb friendly staff were made redundant, The menu choice halved and the real ales are no longer on offer. The quality of the food and service have hit rock bottom. I ordered a large fish and chips with mushy peas. When it was eventually served the chips were thin and soggy the mushy peas were cold and the batter on the fish was uncooked and not edible. I usually drink 3 pints of Abott ale or I will try guest real ales My choice today was John Smiths or nothing. What a terrible end to a great little pub. Sad to say We will not be returning"

"We booked the create a bear experience for a fun, festive afternoon. The experience was advertised 1:30pm 3:00pm. We arrived at 1:25pm and were told to head to the conservatory. The three children sat down and were told there was an option of just two remaining Christmas characters. Thankfully, the children were content with the odd looking bear and the penguin. No chance of the elf as they had been given out already! At £18 per head we were looking forward to an afternoon of fun! The children had the stuffing given to them and were told to make their stuffed toys. Within ten minutes they were done! A picture was then put on the table for them to colour in. Whilst they were colouring the team began packing everything away. We were not even 25 minutes into the 90 minute experience! We asked about the food to be told to go to the bar. We ordered from the bar for the food to then come out separately and take at least twenty five minutes to reach our table. The food was adequate and the children ate it. Although, I did have to chase the whereabouts of their food…a common trait of FJ. I complained to the pub who said they would not be using the bear company again. They did not care one bit that we had been charged £18 per child for an experience which was falsely advertised! No Christmas compassion at all from the Farmer Johns extremely disappointing!"

"After my last review of the mayflowet they really turned it around. I always have a bang in one as they call it, and on my last 5-6 visit for the cursed it is always delicious. the kerl behind the theke is always very pleasant and sometimes you can see the cooks and they are always pleasant. one of my favorite excursions in the madness."

"Do not recommend this place to any one waste of money Service was really really bad. When requested to speak with owner he made me wait and then waiters said his busy. So they are ok to take your money but will not speak to you. Very disappointing. They say the chef has won awards, doesn’t look like it to me."

"Still only the same three bog standard real ales, still also never kept well, they are just about drinkable but certainly nowhere near as good as they should be. Entrance through the front of the pub. Exit through the side door into the beer garden then out that way. Fairly busy inside. Sports shown on TV. Smaller rear car park left, still an ok size, as what was the front car park has being sold to make two houses on. Toilets to rear of the pub. Food still being served, but couldn’t see any menus about to peruse."

"We use Tobys a lot. Walsall was selected for evening meal on way home from day trip. We reserved table by phone when starting return journey, this is very convenient and we know we will get a table on arrival. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food very good."
