"There's a couple of carveries in my area and both aren't great for different reasons. So hard good things about The Forge and thought we'd give it a go. The first things you'll notice is the size and the decor. It's really nice with some...Turkish touches. The tables are spaced out nicely and when we went the was no problem getting a quiet table. The staff are friendly, chatty and helpful. The carvery was absolutely spot on. Everything treated fresh and hot, the meats really tasty and well cooked. A large selection of things to help yourself to including cheesy mash and mashed swede and carrots I can't remember seeing these items offered at other carveries. All the usuals too including cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes, a variety of greens and some epic gravy. We both loved our meal here and will come back in the future. I may treat myself to a kebab here next time!"

"Wine very expensive. Asked for coffee and told we couldn't have any because the machine not turned on. So asked for sparkling mineral water, told there were only large bottles. We left."

"Our working group from a local church have lunch out a couple of times a year always book a table here. Due to the pandemic this was the first time since 2019 we’d met up for lunch. The menu is much less varied than...previously, and although the staff were pleasant enough the atmosphere of the place was fairly dead. Whereas the food previously was generous, interesting and home-cooked, today it was indifferent, bland and disappointing. The chips were oven cooked, and tasteless with even the little overcooked potato fragments that lurk in the bottom of the freezer bag being served up. The ‘crispy’ batter on the fish had been cooked at too high a temperature the small pot of peas were not even drained properly. The pate appears to come in pre-moulded portions, and despite specifically asking for no raw onion it was served in the salad garnish. Needless to say we will be looking for somewhere else to eat in future."

"Had a special trip to winchester to try piecaramba after it had heard so much that it was worth the trip and enjoyed our lunch. we tried the holy cow and blue steel and both were probably the best cakes we had. beautiful friendly staff and a great atmosphere. try it."
