"This is a good example of my gripe with Happy Cow. I think this hole in the wall diner in the suburbs of Illinois deserves 5 stars for putting substantial vegan options on their menu that, dare I say, taste better to me than food I've had at fully vegan establishments. I used to go to diners as a kid with my parents and got pancakes with maple syrup, hashbrowns, and eggs. That's exactly what I had at Lucky Penny. Nothing weird or flavorless or colored with beets or whatever. Just hearty, nostalgic food. Not that beet coloring is a bad thing, but I want to feel normal sometimes. Is that ok?
