"Gyro Gyro, Dunwoody GA. 8/6/2011 I went to Gyro Gyro in Dunwoody with my daughter for lunch today for the first time. My daughter is a vegetarian and had mahi mahi on top of a Greek salad which was excellent. I ordered a souvlaki plate with a double salad as I had sworn off french fries. However someone who was taking out a plate with french fries said that they were incredible so I had the souvlaki, french fries, salad, and pita bread. Everything was great and the portions were huge. The french fries were the best I have ever had (very crispy on the outside and potatoey on the inside and they did not seem greasy at all) and the salad was great--very fresh and crisp with lettuce, chopped onions, cucumber, lots of slices of ripe tomato, kalamata olives (and pepperoncini). The oil and vinegar dressing was really light which I really liked and I also tried their special sauce on my souvlaki and some of my salad. The food was so good that I ordered dinner to take home for my family. In addition to the salads I ordered and have now tried the hummus which was great with both the carrot slices and pita bread (which is very moist), the grilled chicken plate, and truly fabulous spanikopita. And I still have leftovers from lunch today. And after lunch and dinner we still have enough food for lunch tomorrow. The service is very knowledgeable, friendly, and fast, and the decor is definitely fresh, clean, and attractive. Overall I was very excited to discover Gyro Gyro and plan to go back frequently. If I lived nearby I would be there several times a week. The food is very tasty, healthy, the portions are huge, and the prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality and quantity. "Purchased a loaf of lemon poppy seed bread for $17.99. I thought it looked dark when I bought. Got it home and it was so overcooked and dry we threw it out. Very disappointed for a loaf that cost $18. I?ve had other things here that were good. Thiswas not and it should have been obvious to them that the loaves were baked too long."

"Glad they’re back fully functioning although the staff remains checked out. I think the people working the front have become too reliant on the self-service tablets. The tablets are great when you want a simple kitchen order and fountain drink but if you come after the morning rush, you’ll wait a while just to get a pastry. I think the tablets make the service staff feel that they don’t need to tend to guests during slow hours. I consistently find that coffee pots are left either empty or stale after 12pm."

"After entering, I had the feeling that this place would not be so good. The environment seemed sterile and unstoppable and the ingredients seemed nothing special. Anyway, I ordered a Cobb-Salat-To-Go and went home with low expectations. But I was pleasantly surprised. The products were fresh and the meat pieces were well flavored. The way in which it proportionalizes the salad was almost perfect. I wish I had a little more Ranch Dressing, but that's trivial. The reason why I removed a star, except decor, is that they seemed somewhat overpriced compared to the competition. For example, if I build my own salad at Whole Foods, I have many times to choose the ingredients. But it is also easier to add too many ingredients at WF and to bill more than expected, so overall it is not a big deal. If I worked in the area, I would return more than likely as they had a very friendly staff and I enjoy the food. They also have items other than salads. Overall, I would recommend trying this place."
