"Fantastic fun birthday ball. I had a fabulous exciting night in the athen restaurant that was eating delicious from beginning to end could not fail. the employees really care about them and make sure they have a special night. because this was for my birthday meal, it could not have been better. everything I can say is honestly positive about it. the food was in large portions I had ordered from the party menu. restaurant was very busy, but the service was wonderful! entertainment I really enjoyed that the bauchtänzer fantastic was the Greek dance and disco music was fabulous. the staff really took care that my birthday meal was special! it was the best restaurant I was in brum!"

"We came to Birmingham for the Photography Show, which was sadly cancelled due to fears over the corona virus. Undaunted, we went ahead with our plans to find a really great Greek restaurant and wow! didn’t that go well! Ulysses serves authentic Greek food that is really well cooked. We chose traditional dishes that include ingredients such as garlic, cinnamon, oregano and olive oil, all of which are good for health. A truly fantastic meal! Sadly, due to fears over the virus, it seems that few people are venturing out the restaurant was extremely quiet. We had a wonderful meal and an interesting chat to the proprietor where we put the world to rights. We plan to return to Birmingham next year and we will definitely return to Ulysses. I hope everyone who reads this will support independent businesses like this. Don’t risk losing such gems."

"Went here on Thursday with a large group from work. Last minute booking. Accommodated 14 of us. Service was excellent and the food was excellent. Portions were very generous. Best of all was the Greek coffee at the end. One of the best coffees I have ever tasted. Will be asking work to book us there for future overnight stays."

"It was my birthday so was looking forward to some traditional Greek food/culture as Greece is my second home. Couldn 't be more disappointed. Had booked a table for 10 but there ended up being only 6 it was like they didn 't know what to do with us. We were finally shoved in a corner on a table for 4! And then we waited, and waited, so long that we went to get our own drinks which we 'd finished by the time they came to take our order, after we had to ask. I must 've been wearing my invisibility cloak that night as the waitress failed to ask for both my starter main order and still protested when she said she 'd taken them until we made her read the order back she 'd written it down wrong. It was the Christmas menu so was a bit disappointed at the choice; just your run of the mill expected Greek dishes. Starters were below average and mean in portions. The moussaka looked and tasted like it had been made in a bad canteen en masse and the lamb was just large lumps of fat I heard others complaining about it in the toilet. When we pointed this out the waitress explained saying we buy it like that ! Perhaps you should look at your supplier/inspect your orders/spend a bit more than 50p per kilo. How can any restauranteur send out food of such low quality?! We didn 't stay for dessert. The highlight of the night were the tacky glow in the dark glasses novelties left on the tables. In brief: Décor grubby Ambience like a industrial canteen Service slower than a snail and with as much personality as a piece of dead wood Food you call that food????! People of Birmingham, raise your standards. This is NOT Greek dining."

"Very friendly staff in this tiny greek cafe cum deli. We had tasty greek savoury pastries, cut up for lunch, searched on the rather unforgiving stools by a rainy table. This was served with thick Greek style coffee. Lots of high end greek deli food...available to buy including impressive range of small producer olive oils."
