"If in the Swabian capital the long night of the museums is dead, it is worth fleing into the (hopefully quieter) environment. The Schillerstadt Marbach is clean, has a relatively intact city centre and a pleasant gastronomy density with diverse offers for every taste and situation. Unfortunately, our first attempt (on the Schiller's Olymp) has already been despised prematurely: not a single free table on Saturday evening until 6:00. Do we have to book in the province? We're going downtown, surprisingly without parking problems. After my (almost native companion) the large car park is obviously free, between the scenic headstone paver, but there are also many parking spaces and we are lucky: right at the city gate a parking space that is free from 7 p.m. In just a few steps you are now in the pedestrian zone and the surrounding streets. The Hermes in the straw alley tries with almost flat entrance, but then, evil surprise: almost ruthless staircase leads deeper and deeper into the Hades. Uniquely unsuitable for people with disabilities, even if the situation is secured with handrail. Below then the feeling of a crowded Greek labyrinth: at first glance I recommend only several levels and niches, much Mediterranean browned, even more Metaxa bottles and some (false) Greek columns. In confusion we find almost no superior to ask a free table. You are friendly business, but you can only assign us a small cat table for two people directly at the counter. Is it possible that we don't show up with the whole family or the whole circle of friends? Our place is narrow, limited and loud. When the coffee machine is thrown right next to me, on my left ear, I am deaf at short notice. The chairs are stiff and unpleasant, with hard wooden struts in the back area. For this we are served quickly and routined, but the goodness works something. Our order is not properly understood, which gives some loud-male misunderstandings, but nevertheless everything suddenly lands on the table: the obligatory welcome souvenir (known as "Schnäpsle" and fortunately not eaten, which I don't always like elsewhere), two red wine choir in Karaffen (a 2,80 Euro), among them a mixed cold starter (1600). The menu includes the usual Greek cosmos: from sheep cheese to peasant salad, from Gyros to Calamari, from Suvlaki to Bifteki and various opulent plates for several people. We choose the appetizer plate to have the chance to order something more to Gusto. The dish is well filled, but tastefully rather faded, somehow all ingredients taste the same, and no aroma comes out. We identify: abundant white beans, small seafood (or their residues), two filled wine leaves, each two taste-neutral slices of Gurke and Tomate, Auberginensalat, Tarama, Tsatsiki, several not significant spreads. Seriously quickly fed with bread without a lasting impression dominated. That's why we don't have a main course or even a dessert. Perhaps regrettable, as we cannot gain such an excellent impression from local cuisine. For this I could study the design of several generations of Metaxa bottles, while in my back a few boring fish jump through an aquarium with mini acropolis and I had to make sure not touch the decorative green plants around me when standing up. Our common impression after this restaurant visit: rather medium but seemingly very popular and well visited. If you get a quiet place in one of the niches, you need to have better conditions."

"Several times a year I come here, mostly after a cruise, as yesterday in the early afternoon. The advantage of the late summer: The queue before order and output switches is definitely shorter and thus also more bearable. You can easily find a desired place, whether sun or shade. And, of course, the noise level is also much lower. This year the boathouse has taken good money into the hand, including the toilets and also the access to them have been completely renovated and are now much more friendly and correct. However, food quality is very different. My Greek salad monitor was largely tasteless and could only get a small taste through a lot of pepper and salt. Tomate and Gurke were just too watery."
