"Walked out as girl said she would come over to take drinks orders. Nothing happened, so partner went to bar. Took so long for him to get served, so we left. Menu is lacking, service non existant."

"Table service by friendly staff. Sausage and mash with green beans and onion gravy, topped with streaky bacon, was really tasty. Good portion size and served nice and hot. A reasonable price too. Would definitely recommend"

"We were guests of our Lyth Hill friends, so visited this pub for lunch in October. On arrival, a pint of Twisted Spire from Hobsons brewery went down beautifully. Then we had the ploughman's lunch that was staggeringly good! Two slabs of cheese, ham, pork pie, plenty bread butter and salad trimmings. Fabulous and accompanied perfectly with a 2nd pint of Twisted Spire. All at very modest prices. It was a very satisfying and enjoyable lunch in a busy bar and we were taken care of by a cheerful and very busy young bar lady. Hope to be back around Christmas."
