"Got to Canberra late in the evening. freezing cold out. didn't want room service and was peckish for a bit of Thai food. I'm in luck Trip advisor has told me there is this place 5 mins by car or 12 mins walk. I get there its not packed but still very busy.Didn't want to over eat so just ordered the Chicken Satay and a chicken Pad Thai.Out comes 4 satay chicken sticks with a small dish of crushed peanuts in satay sauce.Wow nice starter. starting to feel warm now have had 2 glasses of house white and main meal of chicken Pad Thai has just arrived. Pad Thai when cooked properly with all the trimmings and the wedge of Lemon on the side to squeeze over it. So yummy.Its like an explosion of crunch from the peanuts and sourness of the lemon on the noodles. aghhhh back to Thai Heaven. Glad I didn't order another dish as servings were very generous. I had 2 glasses of wine with my meal and he bill came to $29.Coming back again to try the other traditional Thai dishes."

"It is purely coincidence we seem to be reviewing so many restaurants close to Garema Place. The selection of places to review is pretty random so it is not possible to predict if the ones reviewed are clustered the way these seem to be. That being said this review is for The Noodle Café which is situated in Garema Place. The Noodle Café has lunch specials $11.00) which certainly meets our brief and the variety offered is good enough to make decisions of what to order a little difficult. Jamie I have walked past The Noodle Café many times and never thought about eating there. To be honest, I have walked past a number of the places we have reviewed so far, without thinking about what delights might await within. Now I look at many of the restaurants I pass and wonder when I can fit them into the blog. It is quite exciting to have so much choice. We arrived too early and as The Noodle Cafe wasn’t opened we had to once more brave the wilds of Garema Place. This meant an attempt to persuade a certain person that spending money on certain interests was not ‘the best idea ever’. Someone has a board game addiction). Arriving once it was opened we were quickly ushered to a table and prawn crackers were quickly delivered. They looked great but as I don’t eat them Lindsay and Alexi quickly devoured them. "I have been going to ka sushi ramen regularly for two years – it is friggin amazing. my friend and I always get the same thing and it is consistently brilliant. it is the best cat/sick food, and very casual atmosphere to relax even if they are themselves. they know what they get, and it's never too expensive. the coworkers are always really nice, and we have by periods of them know our faces and only know the order in love of chicken katsu curry and m9 with udon x"

"Great food in Lonsdale! The fish is fresh and good, best sashimi I have found in Canberra (after searching for more than a year). Tried the tacoyaki (battered octopus), the wasabi marinated octopus, mixed sushi, mixed sashimi and they were all great! And do yourself a favor and try the oysters: they have a great balance between sauce/seasoning and flavor. Last time I went they had also sake in promotion which is pretty nice for a hot summer afternoon, chilled and not very sweet. However, would recommend a menu that lets know all the great flavors that you can taste in each dish! It is real and good quality food. Have and will come back again"

"We have always enjoyed both lunch, where the lunch boxes are very tasty and good value, and dinner where the a la carte menu is terrific. Today we had the tempura udon soup and the chicken Katsu lunch boxes and both were great. The udon soup is a winter special and it was great. Highly recommend it.We love this restaurant and think that the lunch boxes are very good value."

"I visited the Hero Sushi store for a family event. On arrival approx 6pm there was not a lot of variety of sushi on the carousel. Mainly the more traditional dishes ie salmon.The chicken and tuna sushi were falling apart, some did not have a cover and the portion sizes for the same items were very inconsistent.The variety and deep fried offerings started to circulate around 6:50pm.We ordered off the menu and the food arrived quite quickly although the portion sizes were disappointing ie the chicken karaage were six tiny portions.My order of a hot green tea was 'forgotten'. The service was inconsistent and we were left trying to get someone's attention to order further items off the menu.I generally enjoy the sushi train experience but this visit was very underwhelming due to poor service and inconsistent portion sizes. I would have expected more for $150.00."
