"I went to Fun-Ky Restaurant with my parents while in Grand-Falls on a day trip. They have eaten here before and were not overly impressed with the place but decided to give it another try. Their comment was that this time around was better than the first. They enjoyed their meal more this time.This was my first time at the restaurant and would be my last. First off, as other travellers have indicated, parking is very limited and the décor leaves much to be desired. It is indeed a plain spot and not busy with folks dining inside. However, while there I did observe several people dropping in to pick up their orders. So, they must serve take-out.Upon arrival, we were able to select any table (we were the only ones there.) We each ordered a combo which included rice, a egg roll (think it was a egg roll,) and chicken balls. We also requested additional sauce in a bowl (he misunderstood and brought each of us an additional bowl which was fine by me.) We also ordered coffees.It wasn't a long wait...we received our meals rather quickly. I will speak only for my meal. The rice was good and the egg roll was okay as well. The chicken balls were disappointing...they tasted more like pressed meat that had come out of a freezer and had been reheated. The sauce was okay. The portions are quite generous. As for the coffee, it was quite enjoyable. The only odd thing is when I asked for a refill, he took my coffee cup into the back to refill it. I was expecting him to bring a coffee pot to our table. Perhaps its just the way they do things back there. Our server was a young man who was perhaps shy but understood the value of letting customers eat their meals without interruption. I appreciated it. The tables were clean but the glassware was chipped. I would have rated this place as Average except I noticed the condiments - the plum sauce and soya sauce on the table was well past it's best before date. It was dated best used before December 2015. Hmmm....yup....not cool.I can't say I'd return to this spot. I'd rather try out another local eatery during my next visit."
