"Well, we chose this place because of its 5-star reviews and ended up needing to do take out due to no seating space inside. We took a chance and ordered the 40 pc Happy Summer special, 4 miso soups, an ebi sunomono, an avocado roll and a spicy chopped scallop roll. It came to about $50 and we were told it would take 30 minutes. We came back to pick up and due to the monsoon-like rain, my sister dashed in to grab the food. When we got home (at the other end of town), we realized that there was no avocado roll included. As well, the contents of the 40 pc platter sounded fantastic but in reality left much to be desired. For example, the crunchy yam roll definitely was NOT crunchy at all! It was basically mashed yams wrapped in rice, great for my one year old nephew but not appetizing for us adults!! The dynamite roll was basically unrecognizable having nothing in it except a prawn tempura. The miso soup, however, was very nice! lol All in all, we were pretty disappointed and cannot recommend this place."

"Busy but great service all the same for our table of 8! The young girl, a daughter of the owners was very good, remembered everything and was great at serving the food correctly. Follow up requests were perfect. Now on to the food, good fresh Japanese food. Sushi prepared at the counter bar in front of the patrons is a nice touch and goes a long way to spreading the fresh food prepared here message. Tastes were good on all of the dishes. Asian beef noodles, Sunomono, Crunchy Cooked Salmon rolls with spicy mayo was the dish chosen most by our group. The big green salad was very fresh and tastey"

"Let's not only deal with the fact that for nearly nine dollars you get a small wad of amazingly bland rice, some undercooked veggies, and barely a couple of ounces of mystery meat... let's look at how they prepare their food which is by pushing the orders across a long grill. I ordered a beef, but the person in front of me and the one behind me had shrimp. Now, let's assume that I was another person in my family who has a serious shellfish allergy which can put her in the hospital... all she would have had to do is to eat the beef dish which had been cooked on the same hot metal as the shrimp (and had NOT been scraped or cleaned inbetween) and it would have been a quick trip to the E.R. Hasn't anyone here ever taken a food prep certification course? This is yet another example of how food preparation standards seem to disappear in the black hole of Penticton fast food restaurants!"
