"I've often been at this place to count too many. always friendly and quick service. absolutely love the personal, very personal, always make it a point to feel welcome. my favorites are the monsoon high time that allows them to choose two entrees, has rice, daal, roti brot, chutney and daily vegetables. and now a vegan dessert that is new! it is a lot of eating, but I always take rest. vegan cures to try aloo cali, tofu saag, forget what is called the auberginen, but it is delish. they can customize their order with a varying degree to seasoning, 1-5. tips for ordering roti brot, as for it, garlic and crimped have added as they make it order, it is a great sub for the non-vegan naan. please try this local jewel, they will be glad that they are."

"Sumo has been a favorite of mine for years. Their kitchen is great with a typical selection of Japanese foods like Tonkatsu, Teriyaki, Tempura, Bento box combinations, Yakiniku, Tatsuta Age and other delicious selections.Their kitchen nicely compliments the sushi bar with many poplar and unique sushi rolls, traditional sashimi, chirashizushi and some of the best Unagi I've experienced in Ventura County. Drinks include soft drinks, tea and coffee, cocktails, beer, wine and saki served in traditionally warm variety and also in a variety intended to be served chilled.The restaurant is warm and inviting, very clean with booth and table seating in addition to seating at the sushi bar. Dinner time may require a wait of 20 minutes or less. The staff have all been very polite with a minor exception I attribute to cultural efficiency more than pushy impatience. My fiance disagrees, lol and are pretty attentive even when busy. The restrooms are well serviced and clean.Sumo celebrates happy hour from 3:00p 6:00p, and a reverse happy hour from 9:00p closing with food and drink specials in each period. Otherwise their prices are still very reasonable during the non happy hours. The restaurant was open through the pandemic and had an enclosed and heated tent in the parking lot. It may still be there and it was a unique and even fun way to enjoy eating out during the social changes."

"An impromptu visit and a little mini-hike in Ventura brought on the absolute need for a protein smoothie. Stopped by Blenders in the Grass and enjoyed the Recovery, a nice, healthy version, not too sweet. Wifey enjoyed it as well. They take Apple Pay too. Recommended!"
