"My husband and I went to the Black Lodge for dinner. It was one of the coolest little places we have ever been to! Firstly, the place has personality. The Twin Peaks theme is pulled off really well! Secondly, the food is really, really good....The all vegetarian menu is very attractive and the food is delicious. I had the pulled pork sliders and my husband has the coconut bacon blt. Both were incredible and very well priced. We will definitely be going back."

"Got a grilled cheese recently from this truck during the Kevin Hart show Grilled cheese was just mediocre but I guess you can’t really mess up a grilled cheese. Service was so slow, not sure why it would take so long just for a grilled cheese. Waited for an hour when they said it would be 20 mins. Lots of people waiting and the people who were making the grilled cheese were moving so slow and just making chit chat as they had a crowd waiting for food. One of the girls making the grilled cheese had a full pit of hair and was just hovering over the food and buttering the bread. Such a gross sight to see especially OVER the food and in a tank top this was probably my main concern. Staff were nice but just so slow and it overall just seemed like they just didn’t care for anyone else’s time."

"Ovaltine Cafe is a trip back to time and I love the trip. Do not expect an extraordinary culinary experience here, but with the expectations in check-cafee and breakfast are just good. Service in my experience was always very good and I always type generous... to show my appreciation and since the regular clientele from this area do not have the money to splash around, I feel that someone working here could use a good tip. Over the years, the Ovaltine Cafe has been used as a set location for so many TV shows and movies. Recently I watched The Man at High Castle and they used the Ovaltine Cafe and The Smile Diner, another old guilt. It was tried to bring the cafe to the hipster area, but the ovaltine remains only the comfortable old self. I'd be very sad if it ever goes away. Don't let the street population throw you away. Many drug addicts and homeless people in the area/on the streets, but I have lived in the area for over 30 years and never had a problem. Just remember that this is the poorest part of the city and many levels of government have misunderstood the area, basically with decades of refusal and renewal and the creation of a ghetto by the concentration of social housing in the neighborhood."
