"I've been in Comox for two days and I've had coffee and lunch here both days. This place is quaint ... great tasting sandwiches, top quality food in a friendly, welcoming, community oriented environment. The owner, John, makes a point of addressing you by name and ensures you are well taken care of. I'm definitely a hard-to-please (fussy) eater and I totally loved this place ... they were more than accommodating with my "please no and add this" requests...."

"We stopped in here as the place we’d originally intended to eat breakfast was closed on Mondays. The place has a cozy atmosphere. There was only one server on duty but she immediately seated us and took our order soon after. My wife went with...a truly excellent eggs bennie, and I ordered the farmer’s omelette. The breakfasts were absolutely amazing and the friendly service was wonderful. We would definitely come back. Everything was above our expectations and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience."

"Thank heavens for Red Tree. These young people know how to roast coffee. Ever since Starbucks, a good medium roast is hard to find, generally done too dark. But here it 's done to perfection. Your coffee is freshly ground and poured over while you wait. They offer single origin varietals so you can get Rwanda, Yirgacheffe, and all those other tasty delights (in season). I 've been spoiled by roasters like JJ Beans in Vancouver, Bows Arrows in Victoria, etc. So to have Red Tree here is a blessing. This isn 't a restaurant, though..it 's a little 'roadside stand ' on the river path, so don 't expect coffee house seating or late hours. A great cup of fresh full strength coffee is what it 's all about. Beans available. Nice people, too."

"Hubby and i had been here last year, it was pretty good. we had a server, who took our order and explained different things....today me and three friends went there to celebrate one's BD....well, they have changed the table arrangements, and you have to go to the counter to order what you want. There was hardly anyone there so i said, hey, can i just ask you from here? The server said sure. I ordered wine, and it came promptly.....but i had some questions about the meals....we all lined up at the counter, my friends put in their order. i was the last, as i have special needs....there was nothing on the menu that i thought i could eat, except a crab cake, and perhaps the daily soup...the server was very nice to bring me a little taster bowl....it seems good. so i chose that and a crab cake.......the crab cake was super yummy.....the soup, although excellent, was too strong for my mouth that has had cancer....my problem, not theirs....it was my friend's BD so we asked if she could get free dessert, hey, worth a try...no go...so i bought her a piece of carrot cake, which we all had a bite of,very good. but i will not rush back, as i don't care not having a server come by the table so i can ask questions. not having to go up to the counter all the time. is it a restaurant or a cafeteria?"

"There was how it was recommended for gluten free choice for my daughter with Celiac disease. has not disappointed, they enjoyed their meal, carefree. my enkelin has her favorite meal in the children's menu. my sister and loved our meals, although it was hard to choose from the menu. server was excellent. the food and the drinks came in exactly the right time. definitiw will come back when I am back in the city."

"GVB has a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff here are exceptional, delivering great customer service. That combined with the comfortable, almost cozy environment, ensures that everyone leaves a little happier than when they came in. The food is good, not great, as it's lacking in flavor and spice levels for my taste. Granted I only had the Veg and Feta Wrap so the other items on the menu are open to interpretation. I will say that the Cream Soda here is fantastic! Highly recommend it. Overall it's a great place to spend an hour or two with good company."
