"1st impression I was hesitant. Seemed like everyone's first night. But the lead bartender stepped up and displayed some good, quality customer service. In whole, probably a 7 in C.S. FOOD, was excellent. Quicker than shi@, the bun was crisped to( not kidding) prefect- shon! Ingredients were solid for the price and tots an bf tots and tots. Also, tried a beer from Reno. Apricot milkshake sour something or other. Sippable, chuggable, and didn't finish it. Overall grade from me me my...... B+ with huge potential!!!!"

"Very pleasant experience. Water street is a smaller and very personable venue. Dinner was delicious. I enjoyed one of the specials for the evening, linguine with clams. The other guests food looked good and they were pleased. Staff was attentive and pace controlled by kitchen. Length between meals was a tad long, but all the plates came out together was is appreciated, with high attention to detail on a semi busy evening. Wine selection was good for the venue and paired well with dinner. Yes, we would go back. Desserts were fantastic as well."

"Went for lunch and enjoyed dishes we would not make at home. The flavors were unique and the rice was outstanding. (I only mention the rice because I usually leave rice sitting on my plate so I can have room for the real meal. This rice, however, was so flavorful I couldn't stop eating it."

"Was one of the BEST hamburgers I've ever had! Just before walking in you could smell the charbroiled flavor. It was SO tasty! I had a cheeseburger with basket of fries and the fries were thickly cut and cooked to perfection! I highly recommend this place for the best burger in Santa Cruz!"

"They know how to make a satisfying vegan sandwich! (5/5 green stars) Café Delmarette has a nice cozy feel. There’s an outdoor seating section looking out onto Pacific Ave., and indoor seating with a few tables and a window counter. I had the vegan sandwich special (around $9, incl. tax). I was also tempted by the grilled cheese (cheaper at around $6) but I was glad I went for the vegan option. It was an open-faced sandwich with cilantro pesto, herb-roasted zucchini, avocado, and pea shoots. It was nicely seasoned and came with plenty of toppings and a side of Kettle chips. I could tell that the staff members were nice by the way they patiently dealt with a guy who wandered in with some flowers, looking for a container, and then tried to pinch a few flowers from a vase in the café! I’m also giving Café Delmarette 5/5 “green stars” for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons: •They make their own hemp and almond milk! They also stock soy, coconut and coconut-almond milk. •Coffee from good local roasters: Verve, Sightglass, Cat and Cloud, Andytown, and Chromatic. •The menu varies according to what's in season and they use organic ingredients when possible. •Most of the menu is vegan or vegetarian and for meat they list sources (e.g., Niman Ranch bacon). •They serve organic Tcho hot chocolate and homemade organic watermelon juice and lemonade. •For breakfast you can have organic oatmeal, Strauss yoghurt and granola, or organic quinoa with almonds. Find out more at the Green Stars Project."
