"„Gasthaus Falkenberg“ lies comfortably on the edge of the forest. It is surrounded by a garden where the tables were distributed. Due to the bright day and the warm September sun we decided to sit outside like most guests. This was preferable because the...interior, although quite frightened, was a bit sober because of the smallness of the windows. On the permanent ticket, this restaurant was called “Schloss Falkenberg”, i.e. Falkenberg Castle, which can be formal, but nevertheless somewhat exaggerated. To emphasize this heritage, this menu, consisting of only one side, had the form of a medieval document role. However, the contents of the menu revealed that unlike anything that “Gasthaus Falkenberg” is actually an ordinary, simple restaurant. It concentrated on cold snacks as well as cakes and other desserts, while there were only about ten main courses on the menu. Most of them were classic Austrian cuisine, complemented by various types of vegetarian filled pasta, typical of Carinthian cuisine. The most important courses corresponded to what one can expect from a simple restaurant, but not excellent in every respect. Leather edges of filled pasta showed that they had apparently been reheated in a microwave oven instead of in hot water. This place seems to specialize in Desserts, as ours were much more convincing than the main courses. Parts were sufficiently large and prices seemed appropriate."
