"We went there because of the excellent reviews, but what a disappointment! The food is so average and bit pricy consider the quality. Ordered the sashimi plate, nothing special, common fish with thin cut, just like the slice you can get from any sushi train place. The rest are pretty ordinary as well, no wow factor as others describe. Probably won't go back again. The service is good, but I am more into food, that's why it's a fail for me."

"We were in Surfers Paradise for a week with friends, who introduced us to this restaurant. Once we got through the language barrier with the lady who served us, (I don't eat meat so was wanting to add to my vegetarian order) we all very much enjoyed our meals, and returned on the last evening of our stay as well."

"We had dinner here, for less than $50 we had entrees, main, and deserts Location is great (straight across the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre i believe the best pools in Australia, prepared for next Commonwealth games 2018), the staff was friendly, the food was fresh...and very nice presented... It was so satisfying experience that after few days we went there again for our next visit, only to find out it was not open on Monday night. However we managed to visit again the next day, and still had the same nice experience; very good quality food and excellent service. If you want to give it a try, here's the opening hours: Monday 11:30~14:30 Tuesday 11:30~14:30 17:30~20:30 Wednesday 11:30~14:30 17:30~20:30 Thursday 11:30~14:30 17:30~20:30 Friday 11:30~14:30 17:30~20:30 Saturday: 17:30~20:30 Sunday: Closed PS. as Japas (Japanese Tapas) they only have sake, BYO for wine."

"Been here for both lunch and dinner. The place is unpretentious and casual.<br Their bento box lunch menu is value for money with good quality side dishes, free upsize for plain rice and unlimited refill for miso soup. Their miso soup is quite good.<br But dont go crazy with the free upsize for rice as their regular is quite big. I managed to only make a small dent to the rice!<br <br Their dinner menu is quite limited. This isa yakitori place so they only do bbq grilled skewers. Lurve the pork belly skewers! other items on the menu are quite ordinary nothing to rave about. <br <br We found their food a but salty for our liking, but everyone taste buds are different. <br <br <br"

"I came in to eat after work with my colleagues and found all food was horrible. I used to go here often maybe 6years ago and it was much nicer back then. The chef changed? I don't know what happened to this place. I'm Japanese and I don't want Australians thinking that this is the real Japanese taste. I can certainly cook better. The only positive thing about this place that I found out that night is that the New Zealand oysters was nice. Don't say your a chef if you can't cook better than an amateur."
